One Forward Step - Recap

The scene opens with Steve making breakfast and has a gnome that looked like Andy. He asks if she had any dreams and she says that she did have a dream. The scene shows that for the past two weeks, Steve has been trying to manipulate her dreams to dream what he wanted. However, Emmy tells that she knows about the mind control tactic that Steve was trying to do. She tells that Andy and her relationship is more than just sex and romance. She tells that she loves Andy and Steve asks why Andy and her are not married. Emmy says that she will take his offer and get married to Andy. Migo says that Steve got manipulated, but Steve tells that she is bluffing.

Puddle asks why Emmy is getting married now, but Emmy tells her that she is not going to get married to Andy now. She just wants to see how far Steve will go and she will call his bluff. She says that she won’t allow him to spend any money. Puddle doesn’t understand her and Emmy says that sometimes they have to do the opposite to what people say and tells her that she can’t tell Steve. Puddle does the opposite and tells Steve and he says that he is going to win and once he spends money, she will call it off. However, that is not what happens and Emmy and Steve eventually make the wedding a medieval wedding that is open to the public. However, when Steve sees the bill, he says that he isn’t paying for it. Migo tells him that he needs to just admit that it would break his heart if she married Andy.

Meanwhile, Emmy is trying on the dress and tells that she is happy that this is happening. Steve comes in and tells that it doesn’t have to be a bluff any more and Emmy says that she really wants this now. Steve doesn’t break face and tells her that it is not a problem at all. Steve starts to get phone call after phone call and Fa’ad calls and says that he is throwing a party on the same weekend as the party he is throwing. He tells that he is not competing with Fa’ad and says that he got tricked into planning. Fa’ad tells Steve that he needs to convince that Emmy wants to be with Steve and not Andy. He says that he is going to say something moving and at the rehearsal, Steve says the lines that he wanted and Fa’ad says that the romance novelist is great, but Steve says that it was him who said that and says that he really wants to marry Emmy.

He walks up to her and says that he meant every word for it. He says that if Andy wasn’t being flown in, he would permanently stand in for the groom. Emmy says that she never called Andy and thought he did. They almost kiss when Mr. Lunt says that he called the groom and sent him a bus ticket. Just then, Andy shows up. At the rehearsal dinner, everyone gets swept up in the moment and Fa’ad rubs it in. Andy gives a toast to Emmy and Steve and calls Steve a pig. Emmy tells that she is not going to fight and Steve tells that Emmy is not a prize to be won, but they decide on a joust for Emmy’s hand in marriage. Migo tries to explain to Steve what jousting is and Steve says that he doesn’t want to really get married and goes to the jousting.

Mr. Lunt runs to Emmy and tells that they are going to be jousting and Andy was the Black Knight at Medieval Knights. However, Steve is already suited up. Emmy watches as Steve goes off away from him. Steve falls and Emmy runs to him. Andy continues to ride off on the horse. Emmy tells that she can’t marry anyone and Steve asks why she didn’t tell him that and she says that she is a little stubborn. Meanwhile, Andy gets arrested in Canada for being a suspected terrorist. Back at Steve’s mansion, Emmy tells him that Andy and her have had problems in their marriage and that they are still working it out. Steve offers to send them to counseling and she laughs that he wants to help them get their problems settled.
