 "Rurouni Kenshin (JP)" Summary
 
Kenshin Himura was a merciless swordsman known as Hitokiri Battousai during the civil war. He has helped to bring down the Tokugawa era which is then ushered into the Meiji period. Many people want to hire him for his skills or kill him as revenge for his past deeds. Kenshin himself grieves for the lives that he has taken, and has vowed that he will never kill another human being again.

Ten years after the war, he has become a wanderer who has dedicates his life to help and protects those who couldn't protect themselves as a way to repent for his past sins. His life changes after meeting a tough young woman named, Kaoru Kamiya. Together with their new found friends, Sanosuke Sagara and Yahiko Myoujin, they fight those who are oppressing the weak and threatening the peace of the country.
