 "Sabrina, the Animated Series" Summary

Sabrina, the Animated Series stars the half-witch, half-mortal teenager as a preteen twelve-year old sixth grader. Sabrina lives with her Uncle Quigley (a mortal who was created for this series specifically), along with her aunts Hilda and Zelda. Another resident of the household is the wise-cracking, warlock-turned-cat Salem. They all live together, trying to help Sabrina adjust to being part witch, along with trying to help her control her powers.
Sabrina attends Greendale Middle School, with her friends Chloe Flan and Harvey Kinkle (whom she has a crush on). Unfortunately, Sabrina also goes to school with her arch-nemesis, the fabulously rich and popular Gem Stone. They had an on-going conflict with each other throughout the entire series, with never having let bygones be bygones.

Sabrina, the Animated Series premiered on ABC, as part of the Disney's One Saturday Morning block, and aired there for the whole series. After the series was canceled, it was removed from ABC and sent to air on Toon Disney. Toon Disney gave it a fine, prime-time slot for a long while, until it was ultimately sent to air at an early time in the morning, around 4am. Due to the low ratings at that hour, it was removed, and picked up by WB, where it aired in the DiC weekday morning block until it was recently removed.

Not A Prequel

This series is a spin-off to Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and it is believed to be within the same universe, or having continuity with the first series, but that is impossible. In the pilot episode of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Sabrina is first realizing she is a witch, because she's turned 16. This series couldn't be a prequel, if Sabrina knows that she's a witch and she's only 12 years old. The same fact goes for Sabrina's Secret Life, which is a spin-off to this series.
