What can I say about “As Westbridge Turns?” One thing that comes to mind is that the episode is one of my favorites from the first season because of the lengths Sabrina gone to beat her bout of boredom.
What I liked the most about Sabrina’s can of worms is the way that events at Westbridge High School turned into an overly dramatic, sappy soap opera storyline line. It was pretty comical to see the lengths Libby went to in an attempt to both get Harvey to be her escort at a fashion show and to steal him away from Sabrina by sending her to jail.
Another thing that was enjoyable about the episode was the way Harvey was in a small way connected the new janitor. In the one scene that they had together, the viewer got the idea that he worked at another school and had to leave for the same reason he sent Harvey to the nurse: for accidentally hitting a student with his ladder. I also thought it was pretty comical that the only thing that Nurse Nancy could do is give everybody a cold compress instead of actually handing out medicine if the students needed it. To go along with Nurse Nancy’s storyline, it was nice to see Mr. Pool having some slightly good luck and having a relationship with someone he considered out of his league.
Lastly, one thing that I thought was a stretch was the way the police officer was able to locate his long lost sister by asking the director of the Fashion show if she ever visited the Grand Canyon when she was a child.
Overall, these are just a few reasons why I really enjoyed this episode of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, even though Salem wasn’t seen that much.
