When Sabrina learns that she could vote in the Other Realm only after she solves the family secret, she gets caught by Zelda getting help solving it. When she puts a no short-cut spell on Sabrina, the young witch has to live one day without any modern conveniences. However, Mrs. Quick really tests her willingness to go along with the spell when she tries to attempts to tell Sabrina the answer to the next clue to the family secret. After reading Mrs. Quick’s answer, they are sent to the Other Realm Prairie as punishment, where Sabrina thinks making the old man she meets a snack from scratch will send her back home. Meanwhile, Zelda and Hilda begin some political mud slinging when they take opposing sides on the Other Realm propositions.

Episode Quotes

Sabrina: Why didn’t you guys tell me you’ve to solve your family secret before you can vote?
Zelda: Well that’s new. You used to only have to know how to work a toaster.
Sabrina: What a surprise, a witch rule that works to my disadvantage.
Zelda: Sabrina don’t worry, you’ll figure out the family secret in time to vote. How many clues have you solved?
Sabrina: Wait a minute while I add them up... One!
Hilda: Sabrina, I had no idea you were so slow. (Sabrina glares at her) I-I mean um behind.
Zelda: I think you could use a tutor.
Sabrina: Well that’s not a bad idea, I’m really ready to buckle down. Bring on a professional.
Salem: (Upstairs in Sabrina's room) Good evening, my name is Mr. Saberhagen. You may refer to me as Mr. Saberhagen.
Sabrina: How did I get you as a tutor?
Salem: Hey, I solved my families secret with only two clues. Now let’s turn to the puzzle-board. (They look at the puzzle-board that's covered with clothes) Let’s remove the dirty clothes from the puzzle-board. It’s not a Stairmaster young lady. (She zaps the clothes onto the floor.)
Sabrina: Okay. (Pointing to the superhero figure) Well I know this clue. Spellman. So the family secret must be about us!
Salem: Look out Harvard. Let’s begin at the beginning. First clue, what is it?
Sabrina: (Looking at a house with birds in it) Chickens?
Salem: Chickens? DO THEY LOOK LIKE CHICKENS?!! Next clue. Okay, ‘M’ plus a picture of fire.
Sabrina: ‘M’ plus fire? I’ve got it! M'fire!
Salem: Right! M'fire! That makes so much sense. Let’s use it in a sentence. Run! Run! The house is on m'fire.
Sabrina: I’ve got a better one. You’re m'fired.
Salem: You can’t m'fire me! I m'quit!

Sabrina: Stupid embers..Hey, that clue wasn't fire, it was ember! M plus ember equals member!
Mrs. Quick: That's really good Sabrina. That make much more sense than what I had: m'fire.

Hilda: Aww, stupid crossword puzzle!
Zelda: This is not going to turn out ugly like that tic-tac-toe incident is it?
Hilda: You know, dispite my dating history, I can't think of a three letter word for a male turkey.
Sabrina: Coffee!
Hilda: No, it has to be three letters.

Mrs. Quick: (Seeing Salem eating a banana) A cat, eating a banana, how strange...
Sabrina: Oh, well he's half chimp on his mother's side.

Salem: (Watching Hilda knitting on the couch) Hilda, this kitten could use some mittens.
Hilda: I made you a turtle-neck and you haven’t worn it once.
Salem: I loved that sweater! I shredded it in less than an hour.

Zelda: (Reading Wuthering Heights) Oh I’d forgotten how much I love this book. (Turning the page.) Oh-no! This chapters missing! (She puts down the book and calls out to Hilda and Sabrina) I’m going to the library! (To Herself) Oh what the heck. (She zaps herself to the dark, misty moors) Heathcliff! Heathcliff!
Hilda: (After Zelda walks around the tree) Looking for a chapter? (Waiving the missing pages in front of Zelda)
Sabrina: Taking a shortcut?
Zelda: It was a mistake! I’m on the moors because I was looking for... Roger Moore. (Hilda and Sabrina look at each other and smile) Dudley Moore? Oh alright, I took a shortcut.
Salem: (To Sabrina) You told me we were going for ice-cream.

(Sabrina walks in to the kitchen still in her prairie clothes and sees her aunts covered in mud, sitting at the table)
Sabrina: I’m tired and I’m filthy.
Hilda: We know the feeling.
Sabrina: Where have you guys been?
Zelda: The campaign trail.
Hilda: Oh sure we indulged in a little mud slinging but the tips were great!
Zelda: So how was life on the prairie?
Sabrina: You knew about that?!
Hilda: We had to sign the release form.
Zelda: Lucky for you the Witches Council were so busy with the election, they didn’t have time to send you back to the real prairie.
Sabrina: Oh, so you’re trying to sugar-coat the fact that they took a shortcut!
Hilda: Oh! That reminds me, I need to floss before I go vote.
Zelda: Not to mention shower.
