Even though Chevy Chase appears in the cold opening and returned to do the "Weekend Update" segment, it is a misconception that he actually hosted the episode. The episode had no host (a phenomenon that hasn't happened since SNL's 100th episode in season 5 and would happen twice during Dick Ebersol's four-year reign as executive producer).
