Episode Notes |
| |
This is Tina Fey's last episode. Although its never mentioned, a clip of her first "Weekend Update" was shown and during the "Goodnights" she wears a t-shirt with the words "Thank You", referring her departure from SNL. Tina later confirmed she was leaving SNL on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno in July 21st, 2006 to star in 30 Rock. | During Weekend Update, Tina Fey takes part in a skit called "Women's News", in which she talks about Britney Spears' recent behavior and proves that she predicted it six years earlier by introducing a video clip where she talked how Britney Spears' will later degrade herself. That clip in fact came from Weekend Update from October 7, 2000. That was Tina Fey's first Weekend Update, and the clip was of a skit also called "Women's News".
Ironically, that episode from 2000 was later shown as a Classic SNL episode later the same night as the original airing of tonight's episode. | This is also Rachel Dratch's last episode, although its not mentioned. At the end, she tells Chris Parnell "I'm going to miss you!" Dratch left to star in Tina Fey's new sitcom. | This also is the last episode for Chris Parnell, Finesse Mitchell, and Horatio Sanz. They were let go due to budget cuts a week before season 32 premiered. | Beth McCarthy Miller's last episode directing. |
