| Average season premiere but with a couple of laughs

LeBron James hosts the thirty third season premiere with musical guest Kanye West. Overall half the show was decent and the other half is forgetable as with most of the SNL shows I've yet to watch one show where I would it was completely great.
The opening skit making fun of Hilary and the Democrats was too stale.
It should have been more over the top and it wasn't. It was just Hilary talking crap pretending to be better than the candidates (which she isn't)
but never really sticking it to them. There just is no edge with these political skits anymore.
The monologue was forgetable I can't remember what Lebron said it was garbage about his family.
The skit with the crazy chick "Penelope" was funny but nothing they haven't done before.
The "Angry Dog" sketch was gold. Whoever wrote that needs to write the rest of these sketches. It was original, funny and had a payoff.
The Digital short which was a sort of rap parody about the Iranian
President was decent. That should have been the opening sketch to
be honest.
In another sketch Lebron plays himself in the NBA read to achieve campaign. Lebron's delivery of his lines were terrible as hell but
seeing get hit with a basketball was funny.
Weekend Update once again turns out to be one of the few highlights.
I really liked the fact that they made fun of former NY Mayor Rudy because
he like President George W. Bush is using the 9/11 attacks to push his own agenda and it's quite frankly pathetic of a guy that did so much for
NY.
The OJ Simpson interruption was gold and I wish it would have been
longer as OJ really needs to be teared apart.
The Solid Gold sketch was lame. It was one of those lame sketches
that they try to pass on the audience as being really funny. I didn't laugh
that much here.
In the last sketch Kanye played himself having a tirade inside the SNL
studio. That was hilarious especially with Lorne Michaels and Lebron standing there and pretending that Kanye really isn't talking about them.
An ok show. It could have been better much better but it was passable.
