Episode Notes

This is Abby Elliott and Michaela Watkins' first episode as featured players.

The final sketch, a short film called "Clearing the Air", was directed by independent filmmaker, Noah Baumbach.

Even though this is Abby Elliot's and Michaela Watkins's first episode, the two hardly appeared in this episode. Abby Elliot had two non-speaking roles in two filmed sketches (the Digital Short "Everyone's a Critic" and the short film "Clearing the Air"). Michaela Watkin appeared in "Everyone's a Critic" (as the Italian woman who slits her throat after seeing Paul Rudd's portrait of Andy Samberg) and the Beyonce Music Video sketch (as one of the stage managers), and on both of those occasions, she only had a few lines.

Episode Goofs

In the "Beyonce Video Shoot" sketch, Beyonce has three back-up dancers (Justin Timberlake, Andy Samberg, and Bobby Moynihan in leotards and heels). In the real video for "Single Ladies" and the live performance in this episode, there are only two back-up dancers.

In the first "Scared Straight" sketch (on the Shia LaBeouf/My Morning Jacket episode from season 33), Jason Sudeikis' character's name was Officer Matthews, but in this episode (and the next two "Scared Straight" sketches on the Tracy Morgan/Kelly Clarkson episode and next season's episode hosted by musical guest Taylor Swift), Officer Matthews' last name is now Sikorsky.

Don Pardo mispronounces Michaela Watkins' last name as "Watson" and misses his cue in announcing Paul Rudd's name. This has been fixed in the NBC reruns.
