With this episode, Tracy Morgan becomes the fourth African-American male castmember (after Eddie Murphy, Damon Wayans, and Chris Rock), and the 25th former castmember overall to come back and host SNL. Morgan is also the third castmember from the NBC sitcom 30 Rock to host SNL (after former SNL castmember Tina Fey and frequent host Alec Baldwin) and the second castmember from the 1990s FOX sitcom Martin (after Martin Lawrence, who was banned from ever hosting after performing a raunchy monologue about women's hygiene on his first [and only] time hosting) to host SNL.
