Thinking that the time spent in the Cadet Corps will be easy, Zack decides to recruit Jessie, Kelly, and several of the school’s nerds to participate. After being selected to lead the team of misfits, Zack frustratingly decides to quit the program. It is only after he talks with Belding that Zack decides to go back to his team, hoping they’ll accept him with open arms.

It is only after her hectic studying and singing schedules that Jessie decides to turn to caffeine pills to get her through her busy schedule, despite the warnings she received from Slater. It is only after Zack finds out about her problem with the pills that Jessie agrees to counseling to overcome her addiction.

After finding out that there’s an opening at the Max, Kelly meets Jeff, when she goes for an interview. After being hired provisionally by him, Kelly begins having feelings for Jeff and as a result, a strain is put on her relationship with Zack. Things come to a head at the dance when Kelly accidentally refers to Zack as Jeff, and as a result they share one last dance before breaking up.



36 :03x02 - Zack's Birthday Party

With the exception of Lisa, the gang gets jobs at Malibu Sands, a nearby beach club for the summer. Almost immediately Zack gets off on the wrong foot with Mr. Carosi, the owner of the club when he asks to get off early for upcoming birthday. Things get worse for him when he calls Carosi names in front of his daughter Stacey when she arrives at the club looking for him. After some harsh runs in with both Carosi’s, Zack and the gang almost get fired when Lisa decides to have Zack’s surprise birthday party at the club and Mr. Carosi finds out about it.

However, when that player gets injured Zack’s dreams of winning the game goes down the drain and leaves the team scrambling to find a suitable replacement that knows how to play volleyball.

When Zack sprains his knee before a big basketball game, he is surprised to find Lisa candy-striping at the hospital he was taken to. At hearing this, Zack fears that he won’t make it through the surgery and tries to sneak out of the hospital. Meanwhile, Screech makes Mr. Belding feel guilty for causing Zack’s injury.

However, when they tell Kelly, she refuses to believe their story. It is only she sneaks into the club does Kelly discover the truth and ultimately dumps Jeff.
