At the start of the episode, the submarines that attack Sealab have the Texas state flag on them. This may be a reference to the recurring "934 Texas" theme that is found in most episodes of Sealab 2021. |

Episode Quotes |
| |
Miller: Well, the writers were, you know, having trouble writing for urban characters.
Butler: Urban.. meaning black.
Miller: So now he's like Mr. Spock but urban. Like "get at me dawg." | Darlene: I got bills to pay, dammit!
Miller: Oh yeah? Price of crack go up? | Miller: You have five seconds to be on your mark and in wardrobe, or I will personally climb inside your abdominal cavity and make a little house in there for my dogs to play in! | Kate: This show sucks. |

Cultural References |
| |
Throughout the episode, Quinn is dressed as a Jaffa warrior from the TV series Stargate SG-1 and they even mention the term "snake in your belly," which is also taken directly from the show. | Miller: ..the most adrenaline pumping, fogged up, smoked out action sequence since Hooper!
Starring Burt Reynolds, Hooper (1978) was the story of an aging stuntman who found himself in a competition with a younger, but less experienced stuntman. Eventually he attempts a record breaking stunt jump. | Adam: We pull out at the last shot to reveal a snow globe with Sealab inside.
This ending is a reference to the famous final episode of St. Elsewhere, in which the last scene reveals the entire show took place inside a snow globe in the hands of an autistic child. | Living in Oblivion:
Much like this episode, the film Living in Oblivion (1995) is about shooting a low-budget movie. Even the titles are similar. |

Hal: No punch out ending? I mean like that giant space baby crap we did last week.
One of the final shots during the episode "Chickmate" is of a giant baby floating in space. |
