Jerry Seinfeld, played by Jerry Seinfeld
Jerry Seinfeld, although portraying himself on the show, creates more of a caricature of himself throughout its run. He is stand-up comic living in New York. He is neurotic and constantly likes to question things in everyday life. He's friends with George Costanza, Elaine Benes and neighbor Cosmo Kramer. Although throughout the series he didn't have much success as a Comedian early on, he then gets a development deal from NBC to produce a sitcom.
His arch rivalry with Newman led to the globally popular quote "Hello Newman". |

Elaine Marie Benes, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Elaine Marie Benes is very outspoken, she is constantly annoyed by anything and everything and doesn't have a problem of telling people about it. She once dated Jerry Seinfeld (the character) but they ended the relationship and remained great friends. She became famous for her trademarks such as "GET OUT!", the crazy body movements she used while talking and the dance from the episode "The Little Kicks" |

Cosmo Kramer, played by Michael Richards (2)
Cosmo Kramer, Jerry's "Wacky Neighbor". The unemployed, always entering Jerry's house to get things from his fridge man. The charasmatic and physical comedy of Richards/Kramer is what made him famous. Probably the most different of the main cast, Kramer had the personality of being more caring than the others. He often spoke what is on his mind and didn't really become annoyed with the world as much as the other three. He is friends with all the main cast, Newman and others that are not seen "Bob Sacamano, Lomez".
Kramer has many trademarks: His entrance into Jerry's appartment, the retro shirts, the wavy/sticking up hair, smoking cigars, the noises such as "Giddyup, yyyyea". Kramer is the most phsyical character of the cast. |

George Louis Costanza, played by Jason Alexander (1)
George Louis Constanza. He's lazy, unambitious, and he hates the world. George: "I'm bald, unemployed and I live with my parents" will do anything for personal gain, often lies about his job or situation. Every job he's had in the show he either got fired or quit. Even though he has done many ridiculous and bad things (which lead to funny situations comically), everyone who watched the show felt for him.
The character is based on Larry David as well as Jerry Seinfeld's actually friend from his childhood. |
