| |
A girl that Jerry met on the road and likes calls and asks if she can stay in his apartment for the night while she's in town. George thinks that she's just using Jerry, and when she arrives, she asks to stay over even more. Then, after things begin to go well, Jerry learns that she's engaged.

| This episode is called "The Seinfeld Chronicles" on the Season 1 DVD.
| Seinfeld was originally supposed to be a half-hour documentary that would fill in for Saturday Night Live about stand-up comedians and how they come up with their routines.
| Lee Garlington, who played Claire, was originally part of the main cast as a waitress who gave Jerry and George advice. Her role was later cut because she was considered boring.
| This was one of the lowest rated and least watched episodes in NBC history and has seldom been reshown.
| Jerry refers to Kramer as Kessler. Later in "The Betrayal" we learn that this is because "Kessler" was the name above the buzzer for Kramer's apartment.
| In the TVGuide summary for this episode, Kramer's character is credited as Hoffman, a working name for Michael Richard's character while Kenny Kramer, the man Kramer is based on, decided whether or not his name could be used for the series.
| For this episode, the series title was The Seinfeld Chronicles. Prior to "The Stakeout" being aired, the series was renamed to Seinfeld.
