Debbie dresses a bag of potatoes and puts it in the stroller. Fee tells
her to eat her breakfast, she's up next in the shower - and put that
stroller back in the garbage.
The boys are looking at the dead water heater. It's going to be at least
$200 to replace it. Debbie wants to bake, like she did when "Aunt
Ginger" was staying with them. Lip goes through the obits. maybe they
can scavenge a dead person's water heater. Debbie continues some mild
acting out. When Fee asks what is wrong with her, she says "Nothing."
Frank comes out of the shower wearing Sheila's robe and carrying a beer.
He calls out the window that it's a beautiful day for a party, and the
neighbor calls back "It's for kids. No booze, Frank."
Sheila makes him breakfast. A man comes through in some kind of uniform
and carrying his gear. Karen says "Dad?" He doesn't respond, and Karen
wonders what the hell he's doing there.
Kev and V are doing it when he sees Debbie walk through. He asks V if
the Gallaghers are using their bathroom.
It's completely silent at Sheila's as Eddie sits down with a cup of
coffee. She takes away his pastry, and Eddie calls after her. He went to
see a lawyer. Turns out he can't live somewhere else and still support
the two of them. Three (glancing at Frank). Karen is very angry at him,
and it's mutual. She starts sending sexual messages to Frank as a means
of acting out.
Kev can't get a cold shower because all the Gallaghers used the hot water.
Steve brought Fee a latte. Everybody is gone, so he wants some alone
time with Fee, but she's up to her ass in housework. He wants her to get
a sitter so they can go someplace private. She hears noise from
upstairs, so grabs the bat from the wall. Steve is behind her holding
Liam, so they swap. They find out it's Debbie. She's talking about how
she saw a dad at the party, laughing and playing, and it just wasn't
fair. So she stole something. A baby.
Frank sees the police arrive for the missing child. He's drunk, and
yelling at the cops. The police question the parents. Their son's name
is Casey Casden. Debbie dressed him as a girl because they didn't have
any girls available. She tells Fee she did this because she misses "Aunt
Ginger". Steve didn't know about her, so Fee fills him in. Fee wants to
know where his boy clothes are. Debbie washed them.
His clothes are now about half the size they were before Debbie put them
in the dryer. Steve suggests they return him wearing Liam's clothes, but
Fee refuses. If they bring him back wearing different clothes, people
will think they did something to him. Something bad.
Tony's partner can't figure out how to use the loudspeaker, so Tony
takes it away from him. The partner then wants to drive, because Tony
doesn't get to do both.
Ian and Lip are at the dead lady's house trying to score a water heat.
Karen calls him on a cell phone that some kid lost.
Fee drops Casey with V, who is shocked when she turns around and doesn't
see Liam.
Tony pulls up next to Fee and Steve and indignantly tells them about the
missing boy taken from a front yard birthday party. Fee asks if maybe he
just wandered off, but Tony tells her they have choppers, SWAT, Amber
Alerts - everything. He says they're going to catch the pedophile who
kidnapped little Casey and chop his nuts off.
Frank sees it on breaking news and gives his drunken editorial take on
it. He wonders why all the news ladies are Chinese. They should stick to
what they know. Railroads. Sushi. Dim sum. Sheila is all aglow because
she made muffins using bundt cake batter, and she didn't even need to
add another egg.
Karen arrives home and asks if "shithead" is gone. Sheila says he is,
but Eddie says he's still here. Karen baits him, and he turns and
leaves. As she puts her packages down, Frank glances over and sees she's
wearing a sparkly thong. She catches him looking and puts on a tiny
show. Frank looks away.
Steve and Fee picked up the outfit Casey was wearing, in the size he
started out in. She sees Lip and Ian, and has Steve pull over. She tells
them about the stolen baby, and Lip says he did NOT see that coming.
Tony continues with his BOLO announcements, just asking that Casey be
returned, no questions asked. His partner wants to know why they
wouldn't ask questions. They squabble about that, too.
Kev asks about the baby V is taking care of, just as Tony makes a BOLO
going down their street.
Frank is handing out muffins to the people looking for the baby.
Fee, Steve, Ian and Lip pretend they are the police, questioning Debbie
about why she stole Casey. That way, her story will be straight. Lip
determines that Casey was inside the yard. How did Debbie get him out?
She waved a Snickers bar at him. She used Liam's old stroller.
V beats on the door, bellowing for them to open up. She has Kev with
her, and Casey is in a laundry hamper. Kev is incredibly apprehensive
about all the cops involved. Fee doesn't know why Debbie is acting out,
so Kev points out that her mom bailed, and Frank is a big old drunk. V
looks at him like "Really?!" and Kev gets defensive.
Steve figures everybody is overreacting. Debbie is just a kid. Worse
case scenario, she gets some help. "Help? What kind of 'help'?" Her
siblings are not amused. She's not crazy. She sort of accidentally took
a kid. Steve points out it's not an accident if she lured him out of the
yard with a candy bar. As they bicker, Tony comes through with another
BOLO, effectively shutting them all up. Fee says they have to get the
boy back to his family. Because if Family Services shows up and finds
out Frank is gone, they will split up the Gallaghers. They've been split
up before, and don't want to go through it again.
They come up with a plan, Lip gives Carl his orders. He's going to call
the police and tell them he saw the boy. Fee and Steve have to tell Deb
she'll be the one to return the baby. It can't be them, since they
already told Tony they don't know anything about it. She digs her heels
in, so Steve tells her Casey's parents are probably frantic by now, and
Fee tells her they can bake that pie tonight, if she does the right thing.
Fee and Steve work with Debbie's new story. She's going to tell them she
saw the little boy all alone and crying on the same street that Carl
just called in to the police.
V goes to another phone and calls in her story. This time the little boy
is on Grand Avenue, and he's walking with a little girl. Deb continues
rehearsing her story. Lip breaks the phone she was going to use to call
the police (in her story) so she can say she couldn't call him in,
because the phone there was broken. She also claims she asked people if
she could use their phone, but everybody ignored her. She doesn't know
if this was because she was young, or ... she spaces out on the next
word, so Fee rubs her fingers together. "Poor!"
V gets Casey dressed in his newly purchases Superman costume.
Sheila's home is full of muffins. She doesn't even have a place to put
anymore. She asks Frank what she should do, and he says "stop?" He goes
to use the toilet, and Karen is in a bubble bath. She asks him to throw
her a towel, so he throws it in the water. She continues trying to
engage him but he won't look at her. He runs from the house.
Kev gets sent to work early so that he can talk up seeing the kid in the
Superman costume. None of the drunks in the bar pick up on it, but the
manager does. She calls it in. V's mom orders drinks and Kev buys. He
clears the bottles off another table, and one of the women comes on to him.
The new water heater gets stolen from the Gallaghers.
Lip and Debbie are on the last leg of the 'returning Casey' plan.
Steve tells her to tell a doctor kind of lie. Put a positive spin on it.
She wants to be a nurse. That works.
Frank watches the table of women that were hitting on Kev, and flashes
on Karen hitting on him. Eddie's getting the basement all set up for
living there. One of the women from the friendly table shows and tells
Kev that the girl who hit on him really likes him. He gives her a polite
'no', and she asks again. she says the offer is for the both of them. He
turns them down, telling her that he's getting married. Frank hears and
announces to the whole bar, which erupts in excitement. Kev can't talk
him down. Frank goes and tells V's mom. She's ecstatic. She's going to
call V, but Kev tells her that'll ruin the surprise.
Fee and Debbie swap babies so Debbie can bring Casey home. Tony's
partner tries telling him Fiona's not right for him. Tony points out
that his marriage only lasted six weeks, and she wound up with the
house. The partner erupts in anger, because it actually lasted seven.
Fiona brings Liam by Sheila's. She accidentally took three of her pills
instead of one. She's a little messed up. She picks up Liam, and Casey's
superman cape is still in the stroller. Fee freaks when she sees it.
Debbie arrives, and Casey's big sister sees him first. There is a joyous
family reunion. Everybody throws money at Debbie. Frank tries to pick it
up, but his sons stop him. It's Deb's money. Tony takes Debbie in for a
statement.
V's mom tells Kev that her daughter has never loved anybody as much as
she loves Kev. She passes out, and he keeps drinking. He calls V's name
all the way across the street up to the house. When she comes out, he
proposes. She says yes.
Deb talks a mile a minute, smiling her way through the statement. Fee
listens from outside, and Steve waits outside. Tony drives them home in
the squad car. He tells her she missed a great pot roast last week, his
mom really pulled out all the stops.
Karen and Lip chat about what it's like to have Eddie and Frank both
living there.
The Gallaghers watch the news, with Casey's story being at the top.
Steve waves Fee into the kitchen. He got a little something for Debbie,
a doll in a stroller. She loves her, she's naming her Gingin.
Debbie counts her money and makes a phone call.
Fee thanks Steve for buying Debbie the doll. She wants a long hot
shower, but they have no hot water. Steve tells her she's beautiful, and
Fee says she hopes she won't screw up the kids.
V arrives with Kev and alcohol to celebrate the engagement. They have a
big old party. Steve tells Kev he got a great woman. Fee checks in with
Kev. She apologizes for borrowing their stuff all the time and tells him
she couldn't raise these kids without them. She hears a loud noise
outside and finds Debbie signing for the water heater. She got free
delivery, too.
Fee finally tells mopey Steve that for a guy who just got engaged, he
doesn't seem to be that happy about getting married. Yeah. Well. That's
because he's already married.
Debbie looks like hell and claims she can't go to school. She was up all
night with a sick baby.
