Summer Loving - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
The scene opens with Sheila taking an ambitious walk of a few hundred steps, and this time, she has come across a mobile grocery store. While she tries greeting the folks there, she can hardly get them to reciprocate. Not before long, she wakes Frank up with a sharp voice from outside her door. She has a great news and she cannot wait to tell him. She has found an eggplant. However, Frank doesn’t think that is going in – not even with all the king’s Vaseline. However, Sheila seems to be excited about something else. She could get to the grocery store – which is forty more steps than the usual distance she feels like covering. It is just the start. Today it was the grocery store, and tomorrow it will be the world. Later, Frank gets to the bar and complains about Sheila’s habits and claims she will realize a hell lot when she gets to work tomorrow. The bartender jokes – she will also get to know Frank had sex with her daughter! Frank does not agree it was sex if he can’t remember.

Later when Antoine hits the bar, he doesn’t mind them calling his wife Doddy butterface. Besides, he complains he will have to give off all his pension funds for Doddy’s heart transplant. Meanwhile, Ian arrives outside a precinct to get his partner because he is being released. Not before long, he is twitching his sister’s nipples and shouting ‘Fuck you’ at the cops. Frank gets to Doddy’s place. She is not letting him in, but Frank’s got her a pizza, and hopes to spend some time indoors. Doddy agrees, but Frank is getting no invitation to stay – he gets the couch and if fat people show up, he has to leave. Meanwhile, Fiona tries hitting on the bartender where she works as a waitress. However, she is hardly getting reciprocation. Meanwhile, Ian and his partner arrive at a local ballpark, where they drink beer and have sex. Meanwhile, Frank tries snuggling up to Doddy but she snubs him and tells him to get off the couch and sit on the chair. And Fiona, after patiently hearing out a client’s lecture on how she should enjoy her youth, is happy to receive a big tip from the partner. Back at her place, Debbie takes a shower and is ready to sleep, but is livid at baby Liam playing with his crotch again. Thinking he is masturbating, she angrily moves his cradle into the next room.

After sodomy, Ian and his partner are showing off chinning up stamina at the ballpark. Not before long, they get back to sodomy yet again. After waiting for Karen’s boyfriend to leave, Philip enters her house (where she and Sheila stay) and gets down to action on her bed. He is talking while gyrating, but all she wants is him to keep fucking her. At Doddy’s place, after Antoine arrives, Frank answers the door, but locks him out. When he gets back, Doddy needs him to clean the toilet upstairs. It’s been clogged for days. Frank gets down to the cleaning, but is shocked to find the amount of dirt in the commode. Not before long, he struggles keeping his feet off the floor. After Philip’s done with Karen, he wants to know why she still wants him that way. She replies it helps her sleep better. On the way out, he meets his dad, Frank, who wants to know if he is sleeping here now. No, he was just leaving.

When Fiona gets back home, she puts her tip money with her the rest of her savings, and gets to bed. However, she finds a pregnant Chinese woman on it, and gets downstairs to sleep on the couch. The next morning, as Kevin is getting a shave, and his wife steals some of the lather for her legs, Fiona has a major problem with the Chinese woman staying in her room. Debbie argues she is Chinese, and her baby could be killed if they threw her out. Later, when Frank meets Fiona, he tries to explain that he is doing something good for the woman – it is a human rights issue. Fiona argues, but he is charging her rent. She has already paid him $200. Has he spent all that money? – hell no. He has $17 and a little more in change left to give.

Not before long, Frank is laying into his 9-year-old son Carl about growing up to be a person with gratitude. Meanwhile, Kevin’s wife is at the hospice, hurrying up the inmates for an excursion. Although one of them complains about this one being the same old trip void of fun, she replies she only drives the bus and maintains the schedule. She doesn’t make the plans. Meanwhile, when Frank gets back to Doddy’s place and poses shirtless at her door, he wants to be of useful. Doddy wants to know if he is working for AA, now. Hell no, but he has nothing against AA… except for the non-alcoholic part. However, Doddy’s heart is failing as they speak – does he want to pump up her triglycerides? She brings him in, and sends him off to get some grocery stuff for herself. Besides, he has a long list of tasks to complete today.

At the store, Ian, his partner and Kevin are getting goods ready for selling. Ian wants to keep it old school, beer, joints and cigarettes… when Frank walks in to pick up stuff for Doddy. He is unwilling to pay, but Ian’s partner won’t let him pass. Frank argues he is shopping for a woman who will die the next week. When she does, they can take it from her estate. Meanwhile, as the hospice inmates go on a tour, all they get to stop at are pharmacies and foot care centers. Later, Frank gets to a bar, and explains that he is taking care of Doddy, because he has a love interest in her. In the meanwhile, Carl is reading out Fiona’s teenage diary to the kids. It is filled with sexual stuff, but Fiona’s quick to grab it away and lure the kids to something more interesting for them.

On the excursion for the old folks, they want to be let off to feel some grass when they see a park nearby, and may be take a walk. After some coaxing, the driver lets them off. But only for ten minutes. It proves to be quite a change, but lasts too short a while. Meanwhile at the park Kevin and Philip are selling beer and buds to kids and teenagers. After the oldies get back to the hospice, one of them collapses, probably out of the sudden exertion he’s put in while playing ball with the kids at the park. But another inmate is offering her ring up because she is just heard that an excursion to a casino or a wilder place costs money. When Frank is back at Doddy’s he gets to know about the work he has left to do. While at it, he tries to catch a glimpse of naked Doddy in the bath. However, Doddy knows it and shoos him off. Later, as Fiona serves another night at the bar, she meets a person her clients want her to meet. It turns out the clients have set it up, and he is talking money. Although subtly, that is bad enough to set off Fiona – besides he does not accept that married men dating waitresses is a bad thing.

Meanwhile, Frank pounces on Doddy for sex. Although she wants it, she explains that her heart condition won’t allow it. If her pulse goes as high as it can go during sex, she will die. They are just two drunken ships passing through sea hole. Later, as they watch TV on the couch, Frank wants to touch her crotch, but she lifts his hand and puts it away. At Sheila’s place, Karen’s watching TV too, with the boyfriend for whom Philip keeps waiting for to leave. However, when the boyfriend is leaving this time, Karen not only does a high five like the last time, but kisses, and waves him off until his bike’s gone out of sight. Dejected, Philip takes a last puff, and runs. The episode ends.
