|The one and (to date) only season sets out the basic concept of the show. Sixteen contestants are shipped to Siberia. At any time, they can cross the security line to go to the helipad and request removal. If they do, they forfeit. Otherwise, the last person standing gets $500,000. ther then that, there are no rules. The game starts with a race and the last two to the settlement are ejected from the game.|
Two contestants are removed, and then one is killed in what is claimed is an accident. Another contestant voluntarily chooses to leave, leaving 12 remaining. However, when strange phenomena such as a glowing green sky appears. the contestants realize that the game is much more. They discover that one of their number is a mole, and they travel to the producers' camp only to discover that someone (or something) has wiped it out and seemingly killed everyone there.
The game become a battle for survival. Some of the group travel to a distant beacon in the hopes of finding help. The others remain behind, and suddenly both groups are caught in a snow storm... in the middle of summer. Strange noises echo through the woods and not all of them survive.
The series ends without really explaining most of what happened during the series. There are two local tribes, and one hostile tribe, the Valleymen, are never seen but rip at least one contestant apart. The beacon leads to a research center where it appears that the contestants may have been the subject of a psychological experiment. A group of soldiers respond to a rescue call but take the contestants prisoner, only to be attacked by the Valleyman. The contestants make their way to a nearby town only to discover that it's been evacuated. And the season ends on a cliffhanger when one person believed dead shows up... and says that the contestants shouldn't be there.
