At the Metropolis Museum, Oliver is preparing for the gala exhibition of Egyptian artifacts with the curator, Adrianna. She wants him to zip in from the skylight in costume as Green Arrow, but insists he wears a helmet and use a safety wire for insurance purposes. Adrianna then tells him that the Green Arrow Girls will be coming after he arrives. Tess, arriving, is amused at the whole thing and notes that Oliver has titled the gala, "Isis, The Tale of Eternal Love." He insists he believes in the story, and Tess figures that he's sending Chloe a message. She warns Oliver that he's become a parody of himself, but Oliver insists he's giving something back to the city. When Tess warns him that it isn't real love, he wonders if she even knows what real love is. Adrianna returns to tell Oliver that the Amulet of Isis has been stolen, and that it is rumored to have a curse. Whoever possesses it will spend eternity in Hell.
At her Talon apartment, Lois tries on her Egyptian outfit for the gala and rehearses ways to tell Clark that she knows that he's the Blur. She leaves, promising herself that she'll soon be living in a brand new world. She's unaware that the Amulet of Isis is hidden in her bag.
Oliver goes to his office to call and determine where the Amulet went missing. Clark arrives and tells him that he's seen the future after he tells Lois his secret, but he doesn't know when he does it. Oliver figures that Clark is there to get Oliver to talk him out of it, but says that coming out is the best thing he ever did. Clark notes that Lois dumped him when he told her the truth, but Oliver admits they weren't meant to be together. Lois loves Clark, and that will make all the difference. He asks Clark what he's willing to risk for love.
At the
Daily Planet, Lois is reclaiming her desk when Clark arrives. She offers him a doughnut and he suggests she choose first. They both start to talk but are interrupted when Cat arrives with her new desk. Lois explains she's wearing the Egyptian costume because she's reporting on the gala and it's themed. She can't help rubbing it in with Cat, and Cat responds by talking about how she and Clark are meant to work as partners. She has a lead on the missing Amulet, and the trail leads to a Luthorcorp dock. Lois recognizes the amulet from when she was in Egypt. Clark say that he's busy with an interview on the roof and leaves, much to Lois' satisfaction.
Lois arrives no the roof first and checks her lipstick. She discovers the Amulet in her purse and looks at it, just as the sun's rays focus through the jewel and strike her. There's a blast of energy and Lois then dons the Amulet. Clark arrives and Lois informs him that she must locate the treasures of Isis. Clark mentions Cat, and Lois asks where she is. He tells her that Cat is going to the Luthorcorp dock and starts to tell her his secret. "Lois" responds by saying that Lois is just the vessel and it serves Isis, and Clark's news is of no importance to her. She then steps off the roof and flies away.
Clark returns to Watchtower and tries to contact Carter Hall without success. When Oliver arrives, Clark suggests they need Tess' help, but Oliver refuses. He has done some research with Adrianna's help, and explains that Set killed Osiris, Isis' husband, out of jealousy and cut his body up into a thousand pieces and scattered them so that his soul would never be reunited with his body. Isis tried to recover the pieces, but never found the heart contained within a burial jar. To stop her, Set trapped her soul within the Amulet. They figure Isis will finish what she started, and locating the jar will find Isis as well. As Clark goes, Oliver warns that Osiris is the ruler of the underworld, and his restoration will bring his kingdom to Earth... literally.
Cat is investigating the Luthorcorp docks when Isis follows up on Clark's comment and comes looking for the artifacts. Isis knocks out a security guard and finds the burial jar of Osiris within a crate. Cat emerges to take a photo of her, accusing her of being one of the vigilantes. As Isis prepares to destroy her with a bolt of energy, Clark whisks Cat away to a sidewalk coffee cafe and returns to the docks. By then, Isis has departed and taken the burial jar with her. He leaves, unaware that Isis is watching him from the shadows.
At the
Planet, Tess meets with a child psychologist who has been observing Alexander. He suggests that they move the boy to a facility for closer observation and Tess readily agrees. As he goes, Tess studies a photo of Alexander. Cat comes in and sees the photo, and assumes that Tess is his mother based on her look of concern. Tess corrects her assumption and asks why she's there, and Cat says she plans to expose the identity of the Blur. She insists that the Blur is working there as a reporter, but Tess is amused to learn that Cat believes Lois is the Blur. When she bursts out laughing, Cat vows to bring down the Blur once and for all.
Tess goes to Luthorcorp and finds out from Oliver that Lois has become Isis. He dismisses her, saying that he and Clark can handle it, but she insists that she needs to protect Clark. When Clark arrives, she tells them that she erased the security footage of Isis at the dock. Clark thanks her and explains that Isis found Osiris' heart, and Tess confirms that a sarcophagus at the museum contains the assembled remains of Osiris. They figure that Isis will earn the location from the address on the crates at the docks, and go there. Tess takes over Oliver's laptop and he stops her, insisting that she's not part of their team. She explains that Lex had a file on Luthorcorp excavation sites, but deleted it. Tess proposes to recover the file, which may have information on restoring Lois and Clark agrees to let her help, and then leaves for the museum.
At the museum, Isis has found the sarcophagus and prepares to bring Osiris back. However, she discovers that his body has been replaced with dirt. Clark arrives and tells her that it's over, but she insists that love is eternal. When Clark demands Lois' body back, Isis asks if he would sacrifice the world for Lois, and Clark says he wouldn't do it for selfish reasons. She accuses him of not understanding love, and says that she would bear any cost to be with Osiris for even a moment. She realizes that Clark holds himself back, refusing to risk his heart entirely, and prepares to take his heart. She binds Clark to the sarcophagus with mystic ropes and prepares to sacrifice him to bring back her love.
Cat comes to the museum, figuring Lois will return there to steal more artifacts. She sees Isis preparing to bring Osiris back, but is unable to get a clear look at Clark. Isis reanimates Osiris' heart and prepares to kill Clark with a dagger, and Cat knocks an urn over. Distracted, Isis loses her concentration and Osiris' heart reverts to its petrified state. Cat runs and bumps into Green Arrow, who quickly locks her up in a sarcophagus for her own protection. Removing his hood, Oliver confronts Isis and draws his crossbow. She notes that he's a warrior with an empty soul, and points out that if he intended to harm her, he would already have fired. Isis realizes he doesn't want to harm Lois' body and fires a fireball. Oliver dodges and calls out that the answer in Lex's file revealed that sunlight through the amulet will undo the possession and free Lois. Isis points out that it's night, unaware that Clark has pulled himself free. He grabs the urn and threatens to destroy it unless she releases Lois. However, she prepares to kill Lois' body to punish Clark. Oliver fires a crossbow bolt, shooting the Amulet off of Isis and into Clark's hand. He uses his heat vision to focus solar power through it, and Isis' soul is pulled back into the Amulet. Lois collapses and Clark is there to catch her.
Later, Tess visits Oliver at Watchtower and he admits she was right earlier. He was lying to himself to fill the emptiness within himself, and admits that Tess is one of the few people that would call him on it. Tess says that Chloe is another person who would do so, and Oliver admits that he misses her. He blames himself for giving Chloe a secret that cost her too much, but Tess assures her that the price wasn't too high for Chloe. Oliver apologizes for what he said earlier, and Tess admits there hasn't been a lot of love in her life. When she wonders why they invited her there, Clark arrives and they tell her that they want her on the team as the new Watchtower. Touched, she goes out into the hallway and cries, and then smiles at a thought. Inside, Oliver wonders if they can trust her and Clark says that they'll see.
Tess goes to Luthor Manor and tells the child psychologist that she'll be keeping Alexander there, and she provide him with love. She's willing to risk her safety despite the boy's instability because she can see her heart. She goes in and greets Alexander, who has grown several inches since she first found him. Tess sits down with him and reads him the story of Peter Pan, a story about the adventures of growing up. He sits on her lap and tells her that he loves her.
At the
Planet, Cat stabs Lois with a pen to prove that she's the Blur. Hurt, Lois prepares to slug her and Clark hastily intervenes. Lois denies that she's the Blur, but Cat insists she has photos. Clark destroys her camera at superspeed, but Cat insists that she will prove that Lois is the blur, and a deviant menace. Clark tries to explain that Lois was possessed by an Egyptian goddess, but Cat doesn't believe it.
As Clark tends to Lois's injury, she talks about how she doesn't really know the Blur, but she feels like she does. Lois insists that she has a bond with the Blur, like the one she has with Clark. Clark says that the Blur is keeping his identity a secret to protect her, but Lois insists that she's willing to take that risk. She starts to go and Clark admits that he's been afraid of people rejecting him if they learned his secret. He admits that he didn't want to lose her, and that she needs to know the truth if they're going to have a life together. Clark tells her that he's the Blur, and she leaps into his arms and kisses him... and then asks what took him so long. Clark realizes that she knew all along.
