At the Luthor manor, a lawyer visits Tess and tells her that Lionel left something in his will to his surviving heir, and it was found after Lex passed. After the lawyer leaves, Tess opens the box and finds a cloth-wrapped object inside. Before she can investigate it further, Clark calls to tell her that they have a leak, and that she should come to Cadmus Labs. Tess puts Lionel's item in her purse and goes to Cadmus, where Clark informs her that Emil has determined that Clone LX15 hasn't been accounted for. Tess insists that the lab is ancient history, but the files indicate that supplies are being sent there. She suggests that the clone should be given the benefit of the doubt, but Clark figures that it has Luthor blood, and must be evil. He detects a lead-lined blood, and Tess says she'll handle it. Clark stops her and goes in, and finds a room with a cot, a chessboard, supplies, and a book containing a thank you note to Tess from Alexander. Clark realizes that Tess knew about the clone's presence, and accuses her of betraying them. As she drops her bag in shock, Clark discovers a series of El symbols on the wall, crossed through. He notices the item in the bag, a mirror box that she says is a Kryptonian relic, and he wonders why she has it. As Clark picks it up, he notices a crack and twists it along the line...

... and finds himself in a bedroom at Luthor Manor, naked, with two women sleeping besides him. As he dresses, he discovers that his short has a stylized "U" on it. Lionel Luthor comes in, unsurprised to see Clark, tells him get dressed, and refers to him as "son."

Lionel leads Clark to his study and tells him to expense the services of the ladies, He refers to Clark's "Ultra-Man" persona, that Clark created to strongarm their opponents, and tells him to avoid recklessness. Clark wonders if it's a dream, and Lionel throws him a rapier. It cuts Clark's hand, and Clark wonders if it's one of Jor-El's trials. Lionel insists it's merely practice, and duels him while telling Clark to make his father proud. When Clark snaps at him, Lionel warns him against emotional reactions and disarms him. Clark plays along and Lionel relents, saying that he's there to set Clark on the right path of conquest... as Clark Luthor. As he pours them drinks, Lionel wonders what would have happened if a farmer had discovered Clark as he arrived on Earth.

Clark superspeeds to the Kent farm and discovers that it's up for auction and abandoned. However, that world's Tess is waiting for. She's well aware that she's Lionel's daughter, and assumes that "her" Clark knows it. She tries to kiss him but he insists he's not who she thinks he is. Tess notices that he doesn't have a scar no his right arm, and assumes that "he" used the mirror box to switch dimensions. When Clark says that he used it, Tess explains that her Clark, Clark Luthor, found the mirror box. Clark asks her for information, and she tells Clark that her Clark said that they are in a parallel universe, a darker one. Clark Luthor is in Clark's world,

Clark goes to the Daily Planet, which is now a LuthorCorp Media outlet. A car rams into him, and Clark realizes the driver is Lois Lane. She knows Clark as her editor at the paper, and figures he's trying to get her worried. Oliver arrives and kisses Lois, and Cark realizes that they're wearing engagement rings. A reporter comes up to ask Oliver about his recent series of Smallville land grabs, and Lois takes her to the side. Clark tells Oliver that he's lucky to have Lois, but Oliver notes that they've known each other since boarding school and Clark has inevitably pissed away every opportunity to make the world a better place. Lois and Oliver leave and Clark hears an alarm goes off. He corners the thief in an alleyway, and the criminal cowers in fear before him and says that no one sees Ultra-Man and lives. Clark realizes that Lionel turned Clark Luthor into a murderer.

On the original Earth, Clark Luthor looks around the same alleyway and smiles.

At her office, Tess tries to locate Clark on the CCTV cameras when Clark-L comes in. He quickly assumes that she is her evil counterpart who brought them both there, and kisses her. She notices the scar and realizes what's going on, while Clark-L admits that Lex left the scar on him. As Clark-L pours himself a drink, he admits that it's a relief that they are no longer under Lionel's shadow. Tess brings him up to speed, and Clark-L figures that he'll easily be able to conquer the alternate Earth. He asks for the mirror box so that they can destroy it and eliminate any chance of them being sent back to their world. Tess says it's at the manor and goes to get it, and Clark assures her that this Earth won't know what hit it.

Lois is trying to get coffee from an obnoxious vendor when Tess calls her. Lois ignores the call for her day off, and discovers that her credit card has been declined. The man behind her in line gets a call: it's Tess, who tells Lois to get to Watchtower right away. When Lois arrives, she discovers that Tess is trying to raise the team, and explains that Watchtower is the safest place in the city against Clark-L. Before Tess can explain why Clark is a threat, Clark-L drops in through the skylight and casually knocks them down. When Lois tries to get through to him, Clark-L knocks her out. He accuses "his" Tess of betraying him, and refuse to go back to Lionel's world. Clark-L demands the mirror box, and tells Tess that he'll kill her if she doesn't.

On the other Earth, Tess breaks into Lionel's office and takes the journal page with the description of the mirror box. Lionel comes in as she hides it, and he notes that she turned against him and refused her inheritance. He quickly realizes that she took the journal page, and asks if it's part of her coup attempt against her. Lionel takes the page back, and Tess insists she loves Clark. Lionel says that she couldn't do otherwise given Clark is a god, but dismisses her as beneath Clark. She slaps him, and Lionel summons his guards while telling her she wasn't special enough to love. As the guards take her away, Tess smashes the photo of herself as a child with Lionel, and warns that Clark-L will soon stab Lionel in the back.

Clark goes to the Fortress to find Jor-El's construct, but discovers that Lionel has set up base there. He notes that they took extreme measures to destroy the construct, and relates the story of King Lear. Lionel then says that Tess was looking for the journal page concerning the mirror box, and Clark claims that he told her to find it so he could destroy it. He says that he did it to make Lionel proud of him, and Lionel says that Oliver has it, since the Queens had it when Veritas was dissolved. Clark assures him that he'll take it back.

At their engagement party at the Ace of Clubs, Lois finds Oliver drinking on the balcony. He says that the people are there for her, not him, and she tries to reassure him. Lois says that she's all the cavalry he'll ever need, and he wonders why she chose him. She tells him that he's the best man that she's ever found. As they start to kiss, Clark superspeeds past, taking Lois with him. He then calls Oliver from the top of Luthorcorp Media and says that he'll trade Lois for the mirror box, and that he'll text him with a rendezvous location. Lois tries to hold him off, and Clark insists that they've met in another dimension. He tells her some things that only a friend would know, and says that she can always tell when he's telling the truth. Clark says that he loves her, and can't live in a world without that love, and then superspeeds away.

Clark goes to the abandoned Watchtower building and Oliver-L confronts him. When Clark says he wants the mirror box, Oliver-L notes that he's already confirmed that Lois is safe, but he knows nothing about the box. He then reveals a massive piece of meteor rock, weakening Clark. Oliver-L explains that he purchased all of the land in Smallville so he could mine the ground for meteor rock, and scatter it in traps throughout the world. Clark insists that he's no threat, and that Clark-L is wrecking havoc on his world. Oliver-L doesn't believe him, and says that he does believe in justice. He wishes that he could have worked with Clark, and prepares to shoot him. However, Lionel arrives and knocks Oliver out. He explains that he knew about Oliver's trap, and sent Clark there. Lionel reveals that he has the mirror box, and admits that he finally accepted that Clark would betray him. He dismisses Clark as weak, saying that a true Luthor would have killed his father.

Lionel beats Clark with his belt, but Oliver manages to shut down the kryptonite trap. Clark grabs the mirror box and knocks Lionel back, and then tells Clark to be ready when Clark-L arrives in his place. He tells Oliver that they do save the world together, and then activates the mirror box. As Lionel runs at him, Clark vanishes from one Earth and appears in Watchtower in the other... kneeling amidst the debris of Watchtower. An injured Oliver, Tess, and Lois are there, armed with kryptonite weapons, and Lois realizes that it's her Clark.

Later, Clark goes to see Lois as she's checked out of the hospital. He assures her that he destroyed the mirror box, and worries that there's a part of the Clark-L within him. However, he thinks that Lois was considering giving Clark-L a second chance, but Lois assures Clark that he's doing fine with his first chance with her.

Tess is in her bedroom going through her childhood photos, and photos of Alexander. Clark arrives and admits that he was wrong about saying that all Luthors are evil, and that she was right to keep her secret given how he reacted. Tess explains that she's upset that Lionel threw her away because she wasn't good enough to be a Luthor. Clark assures her that corruption comes from the person, not their bloodline, and that she could have turned out much worse if raised by Lionel. He apologizes to her for his earlier comment, and Tess says that she hid Alexander so she wouldn't lose the only family she's ever known. However, he fooled her and escaped, and now Alexander will only be found when he wants to be. Clark assures her that they'll face Lex together, and she's not alone any more.

Somewhere in Metropolis, Lionel buys a paper and says he's from out of town. He figures that he's back in the nick of time to see how it all turns out, and disappears into the crowd.
