  Episode Notes
Freak of the week: Tina Greer - Can transform in to any person she wants.

Soft Bone Disease
As a child, Tina most likely suffered from osteogenesis imperfecta, a disorder in which osteoblasts (cells that produce bone) fail to produce osteoid (the protein mixture of which bone is primarily composed) in sufficient quantity or of adequate quality or both. Extreme cases are fatal during infancy or gestation; milder cases result in weak and brittle bones, forcing patients to exercise caution in their lives to prevent breaks.

  Episode Quotes
Lex: I promise I’m not a criminal mastermind.
Clark: I know. A criminal mastermind would have worn a mask.

Roger: I’ll give back the money. We’ll be even!
Lex: No, we won’t. Because I also know your brother works for juvenile court.
Roger: Leave him out of this!
Lex: I didn’t get him involved in this. You did. You came into my life thinking I was some spoiled rich brat you could shake down because he needed his daddy’s protection?!? Trust me. When I make things disappear they stay buried.

Roger: What happened to your car?
Lex: I drove it off a bridge at sixty miles an hour.
Roger: How are you still alive?
Lex: That’s the mystery I need your help to solve...

Tina: What do you want me to say? You have the perfect life.
Lana: You want it? You can have it.

Tina’s Mother: Please tell me you didn’t rob the bank yesterday!
Tina: (transforming herself into Lex) I didn’t. Lex Luthor did.

  Episode Goofs
When Clark gets thrown through the window at the beginning by Tina Greer disguised as Lex Luthor, the glass that falls around him is round edged and clearly prop glass.

  Cultural References
Whitney: I swear that girl’s got you LoJacked.

LoJack is a tracking system installed in vehicles to discourage theft by increasing the chance of recovery and the likelihood of capture and conviction of car thieves. It employs a radio signal emitted by the vehicle that can be detected by equipment the company makes available to the police. The term “lojacked” has come to mean any method of finding or following someone or something, although it is properly a trademark.

  Analysis
Lex: I promise I’m not a criminal mastermind

In the Superman comic books, Lex Luthor in fact IS a criminal mastermind and is arguably Superman’s most dangerous adversary. This line is doubtless a bit of self-referential humor or foreshadowing.

Tina’s Ability

Tina demonstrates an ability to transform herself based on the unusual nature of her bones. Her recovery following the meteor fall and Clark’s ability to see green blotches throughout her skeleton strongly imply that her skeleton has incorporated green Kryptonite and that this in some fashion enables her to alter her physical form at will. She demonstrates the ability to alter parts of her body that do not contain Kryptonite, such as hair and skin. She also alters her clothing, which isn’t living tissue. It seems likely that her ability is more comprehensive than the simple restructuring of bone that Clark hypothesizes.
