Cultural References

Junior Life Guard Association:
Aquaman had brought up is a quick reference of the "JLA" which is the Justice League of America, a super hero team on which Aquaman and Superman will be a part of in the future.

Arthur Curry's Clothing:
The orange and green outfit Aquaman wears is similar to the team colors of the University of Miami Hurricanes. This creative decision was most likely chosen since Aquaman is traditionally depicted in orange and green in the comics be it golden or silver age.
