Trespass - Recap

In her bedroom at the manor, Lana is going to bed but stops to examine the bent chisel that Lex tried to stab the red-k infected Clark went. Someone calls her and sends her a cell phone photo of herself… holding the chisel. She runs out into the hallway and finds Lex, who calls in security. All they find is an open window. While Lex is distracted, Lana hides the chisel so he won’t see it. Lex figures it’s just an overreaction to the paparazzi stalking her now that she’s Lex’s fiancée and Lana pretends to agree.

Lex leaves on a business trip but sets Lana up at the Talon in Chloe’s apartment with a security entourage. Lana talks to Chloe and tells her that she lied to her fiancé. She shows Chloe the photo but doesn’t mention anything specific about the chisel or why she’s holding it in her bedroom.

Chloe goes to see Clark, who is with Martha. He admits that he has spent all day doing the chores because he thinks someone is watching him. Chloe explains what happened with Lana and that she’s traced the cell call to Louis Esposito, a low-rent photographer. She says Jimmy know the guy but asks Clark to follow up on the matte with Jimmy. She finally admits that she’s avoiding Jimmy because they broke up. She also tells Clark that Lana has the chisel.

At Chloe’s apartment, Lana snoops through her computer and finds a folder labeled “CK.” However, it’s password protected. Before she can pursue the matter, she hears someone downstairs and goes to investigate. She finds a package with lingerie and a note from the stalker, saying for her to be wearing it when he kills her. She runs out the back door but finds the paparazzi gathered outside. Backing in, she runs into Brady, Lex’s head of security. He escorts her inside where another security guard, Mack, brings Chloe in.

The next day, Clark goes to the Daily Planet to talk to Jimmy. Jimmy insists he won’t stand between Clark and Chloe and Clark explains the two of them are just friends. He suggests Chloe get back together with Chloe and then asks for his help finding Esposito.

Lex sees the published photos of Lana from the Talon and tells Brady to take Lana to LuthorCorp Plaza. Lana figures that’s a bad idea since it’s so obvious and tells the security men to take her to the Kent farm. Martha welcomes her into the house and has her stay in Clark’s room. Lana looks around and finds a photo of her and the crystal pendant she used to own. Her phone rings: it’s the stalker, who says she can’t escape him. She spots blood under the hallway door and opens it to find Brady, seemingly dead, his throat cut.. The stalker calls and tells her she deserves to die. Lana takes Brady’s gun but he grabs her with a dying effort and she trips and falls down the stairs.

The other security men take Lana to the hospital. Dr. Langston and Martha are there and Langston assures her that her baby is unharmed. He has Mack escort Lana to the old wing of the hospital so they can make it secure.

Clark and Jimmy go to Esposito’s apartment. They find photos of Lana, including some that show her snooping around the barn. Martha calls to tell Clark that Lana’s at the hospital and Clark slips away at superspeed to be with her.

Lana wakes up to discover that she’s alone and her cell phone is ringing. It’s Chloe, but Esposito arrives and starts snapping pictures of Lana. She runs away from him and Clark arrives, knocking him unconscious. Mack shows up to take Esposito into custody. Clark goes to help Lana and hears a shot: Mack was forced to shoot Esposito when he attacked the security guard.

Mack takes Lana back to the manor and tells her that Lex’s return was delayed due to a snowstorm. He talks about how Lex shouldn’t have left her alone. When Lana asks for some food, Esposito tells her that he sent all the staff home. He talks about how kind she is compared to Lex’s previous girlfriends, but thinks Lex is corrupting her. Lana tries to appeal to him for help and then manages to hit him over the head and lock herself in the bedroom. She tries to call out but discovers Mack has cut the phone lines. She goes out the window into the snow.

As Chloe and Clark examine Esposito’s photos, they find one that shows Martha at a ceremony at the same time the stalker was at Lana’s bedroom. Realizing someone else took the photo and Lana is still in danger, Clark superspeeds to rescue her.

Lana gets to the roof of the manor and Mack follows her. They struggle and he tries to strangle her. Fighting back, Lana knocks them both through a skylight. Mack dies but Clark catches the stunned Lana.

Later, Clark meets with Chloe at the Planet and she suggests he can trust Lana since she didn’t show Lex the photos. Clark isn’t convinced. Jimmy comes in and is initially mad at Clark for abandoning him, but then realizes that Clark did so to be with Lana. Clark slips away and lets Jimmy and Chloe work out their differences. The couple ends up back together again.

Lana wakes up to find Lex at her bed. She explains that he went to the Kent farm simply because nobody would think of looking for her there. Lex insists that he trusts her. He leaves, and Lana checks her dresser… and discovers the bent chisel is missing.

At the barn, Clark is working when Lex pays him a visit. Lex taunts him briefly and then invites him to the wedding… so Clark will know what he’s lost.
