Jimmy and Kara go to an underground venue at a gum factory where OneRepublic is performing. Kara was there previously before she lost her memories, but it doesn’t help her to remember anything. Pete Ross is working as a roadie for the band and goes to the storage room to get some gum for them. He grabs a package for himself, unaware that it’s contaminated with kryptonite. Back in the main room, a speaker on the catwalk above breaks free and falls toward Kara. Jimmy reaches for her and his arms stretch enough to let him grab her and pull her out of the way. Jimmy gets a picture of the rescue on the cell phone.
Lionel visits Clark and Lana at the farm and they discuss what to do about Kara. Clark wants to take her to the Fortress and tell her truth, but Lana and Lionel both worry that she’s been subverted by Lex. Clark decides that her missing bracelet with the “S” symbol is important. Lionel heads out and bumps into Pete at the door. He quickly leaves as Pete gives him a hostile glance and then greets old friends Clark and Lana.
Kara visits Lex to let him know she still can’t remember anything about her past, and that she thinks Clark is hiding secrets. After Lana leaves, Clark and Pete play some one-on-wall and Pete gets up-to-speed on everyone who now knows about Clark’s secret. He’s especially angry at Lionel knowing, since Lionel was responsible for his family losing their company in Smallville. Clark wonders why Pete didn’t call and Pete admits that he was worried that someone might try to get to Clark through him so he put his life on hold. He then shows Clark his stretching abilities, saying he understands what it’s like to have superpowers. Clark is worried, wondering if the kryptonite hasn’t twisted Pete’s mind. Pete figures Clark is jealous and warns him he’ll reveal Clark’s secret if Clark gets in his way.

Pete goes into Lionel’s office and uses his powers to open the vault door from the inside. Among the items is a box full of kryptonite. Pete finds the bracelet, but Clark is waiting for him and tries to get through to him. Pete insists on saving the day and uses the kryptonite to weaken Clark. Leaving it on his chest, Pete goes to get rid of Lex, the cause of all their problems. He meets with Lex at the gum factory and tries to strangle him, but Lex’s bodyguard knocks him down, knocking the gum out of his mouth. Lex and the bodyguard start torturing Pete for the location of the bracelet.

He goes to apologize to Chloe as well, and admit he knows she has a power. He says she doesn’t have to tell him what and gives him a hug, and a jealous Jimmy notices them. After Pete leaves, Chloe tells Jimmy that she and Pete are just friends, and he says the same thing for him and Kara. He hesitantly asks her to come out for a cup of coffee with him and she agrees.
