1x15: Bombshell recap: The episode begins, with Julia and Tom doing their best to come up with the new song for the ending of the show, before the show goes live. Meanwhile, the new Marilyn is walking to the stage with everyone wishing her luck; her face in the meanwhile isn’t revealed yet. The curtains then rise with the audience applauding loudly. The episode then flashes back to 12 hours earlier. Julia, Derek, Eileen and Tom are show panicking about who would be their new Marilyn, now that Rebecca has opted out of the show. Derek then storms out in anger, as the four of them aren’t able to come to a consensus. Eileen meanwhile tells the newspapers that, they have a new Marilyn but are not yet ready to release her name...

Jessica then calls up Ivy and tells her that Derek is waiting for her. Ivy and Dev then promise to keep their rendezvous a secret. Meanwhile, Frank comes to drop Julia to the theatre. Later, Julia goes in and tells Tom that although she has come, she is not speaking with him. Meanwhile, Derek and Rebecca once again get cozy in the dressing room. Derek then comes onstage and declares that they are having their first preview in the night. He then declares to the crow that Michael Swift has joined the play as DiMaggio...

Karen then walks on to the stage. Meanwhile, Rebecca stands on the stage and looks at the empty seats, just then Derek enters, and she quickly makes herself scarce. Derek then sits down deep in thought. Meanwhile, Ivy comes in with coffee. She asks him if he is still working on “that transition”. Ivy says it’s a choreography problem not a set problem, and gives her own inputs. Derek is impressed by her suggestions. Meanwhile, Karen is woken up by a call from Dev. Dev says he wants to come and meet her in the weekend...

Sam asks Tom if she’s “a little old” to be playing Marilyn – since Rebecca is “36-ish.” And apparently Tom and Sam have been flirting for a week and Julia’s tired of it, so she makes them a dinner reservation for 7 p.m. the next day. Rebecca Duvall in the meanwhile, is going to start off with “Let Me Be Your Star”. She’s so bad that Derek cuts her off. Back in Eileen’s office Tom’s first question is “What are we going to do?” Derek says she’s loud. Eileen says she’s going to fill the seats so they have to find a constructive solution...
read more.1x10: Understudy recap: The episode begins, and Dev didn’t get the job and he commiserates with hot NYT reporters RJ. Paul got the job instead. Karen doesn’t know yet because she’s busy being the understudy for Ms. Duvall. Everyone (Ivy’s old friends) congratulate her, and Bobby comments to Sam that she’ll never be able to hack it. Afterwards Sam visits with Ivy but doesn’t break the good news to Ivy — he lets Derek do it. Ivy calls her a usurper and Derek says after what happened at “Heaven on Earth” he can’t even get her into the chorus. Meanwhile Karen goes to visit Dev at the office and he doesn’t tell her the bad news — but she tells him her good news. Eileen’s demands that Ellis do something to earn the co-producer title – find Rebecca Duvall and set up a meeting with the investors...
