The episode begins with Tom and Sam singing together on the piano. Meanwhile, Karen packs her bags and arrives. Meanwhile, the preparations for Bombshell are underway. Karen then walks on to the stage. Meanwhile, Rebecca stands on the stage and looks at the empty seats, just then Derek enters, and she quickly makes herself scarce. Derek then sits down deep in thought. Meanwhile, Ivy comes in with coffee. She asks him if he is still working on “that transition”. Ivy says it’s a choreography problem not a set problem, and gives her own inputs. Derek is impressed by her suggestions. Meanwhile, Karen is woken up by a call from Dev. Dev says he wants to come and meet her in the weekend.

She says she has a roommate, and also might not have a time to see him. Meanwhile, Tom comes in and tells Derek he has a great idea for a song for both Karen and Ivy. Derek says he won’t put in a new song during tech. Meanwhile, Ted comes and tells the two that he has a pilot, and it would begin shooting in Las Vegas next week, therefore he can’t play DiMaggio. Ted profusely apologizes and leaves. Derek meanwhile, tells Tom that he knows about Michael and Judy. Meanwhile, in the makeup room Karen and Rebecca compliment each other. Rebecca confesses to Karen that she is nervous despite being such a big star. Meanwhile Julia is trying her best to learn making pancakes.

Meanwhile, Tom calls up Julia and to give her the bad news of Ted leaving, but is discouraged on hearing her happy, and in the end doesn’t tell her anything as he doesn’t want to rain on her parade. Later Rebecca is shocked to hear that Ted has left the show. She is angry that no one saw it fit to tell her about this. Derek tells her that no one wanted to worry her. Rebecca walks out of the stage in anger. Derek then proceeds to calm Rebecca down. He promises to her that he shall find a better DiMaggio. They then begin the performance rehearsal. Later, Rebecca shares her worries with Derek, who dismisses them. She is still worried about the fact that they have lost their leading man. Derek tells Rebecca to use her star power to make things work in her favor. He tells her to revel in it and find her joy in it. Outside Ivy stands looking worried, Derek once outside confirms with Ivy that they still on for dinner in the night.

Meanwhile the good looking reporter comes to meet Dev, with a bottle of wine in her hand. Meanwhile, a shocked Julia is informed by Eileen that Ted has got a pilot and hence she will have to bring back Michael Swift. Julia doesn’t agree to the suggestion, she gives other names who might be suitable for the part. She tells Eileen she nearly lost her family and things are still fragile. She tells Julia that she can take some time off. Swift shall be brought in without her being there. Eileen explains that there is too much at stake, but Julia is adamant and doesn’t want to take a chance. Eileen feels Julia is taking it far too personally. Julia ends the discussion by putting her foot down and maintaining that Michael can’t be brought back. Meanwhile, Dev and the R.J make out.

Dev stops her halfway. He apologizes to her for not being able to do it. Meanwhile, Derek is thoroughly agitated during the tech setup. Meanwhile, Julia and Tom discuss who would play DiMaggio. Meanwhile, Derek tells Tom to tell Julia that Michael’s going to be there whether she likes it or not. Julia then tells Frank what is happening. Frank is visibly bothered on hearing this, but Julia confirms with him that she said a ‘no’ to Michael being a part of the show. Meanwhile, Derek wants certain changes made as per Rebecca’s demands; Tom in return wants the song for Ivy and Karen. Suddenly the lights go off and the spotlight then shines on Rebecca singing ‘Happy Birthday to You’ as Marilyn. It’s Derek’s birthday and hence the performance. After the song a huge cake is brought in, with the whole cast and crew wishing Derek.

Ivy in the meanwhile, doesn’t seem too happy with it. Sam later tells Ivy that Derek loves her and that she has nothing to worry. Sam also tells her that Tom wants to meet his parents, who are going to be in town. Meanwhile, Rebecca feed Derek his birthday cake, with Ivy looking on rather bothered. Ivy then proceeds to get some cake for herself. Meanwhile, Eileen tells Julia that Tom has agreed, despite Julia maintaining that she doesn’t want Michael. Eileen tells Julia that she is sensitive to her issue but ultimately its Julia’s own fault and everybody else shouldn’t have to pay for it. Just as the two are arguing Frank walks in. Eileen leaves with Frank asking Julia what is going on. Julia then proceeds to call Tom regarding the issue.

Meanwhile, Derek and Tom are looking at the rehearsals. Derek is not happy with the performances. Derek then instructs Karen and Ivy to stand on either side of Rebecca and remove her gloves for her. Meanwhile, Dev comes to meet Karen at the rehearsals with flowers. Meanwhile, Julia tells Tom that she is out if Michael comes in. Meanwhile, Tom meets Sam’s parents. Sam’s father isn’t too happy with his career choice. Tom agrees with Sam’s father, and he ends up liking him. Meanwhile, Derek and Rebecca make out in the dressing room. Meanwhile, Tom offers to help Sam’s father do the dishes. Sam’s father asks Tom what’s the worst thing he has seen happen to a dancer. Tom in turn replies “I don’t even want to say what the worst thing is”.

He then gives a few examples. He tells Tom to talk some sense into Sam, Sam come sin just then and tells them that he doesn’t want any sense talked into him. Meanwhile, Ivy realizes that Derek might be with Rebecca. She then hears Derek and Rebecca from outside the door and puts tow and two together. Meanwhile, Dev and Karen have dinner. Dev proposes to Karen over dinner. Karen is shocked with the proposal, and doesn’t say a no or a yes. Dev is visibly hurt by that. She then walks out of the restaurant. Later, Tom apologizes to Sam for supporting his father. Tom wants Sam to start a retirement fund.

Sam in the meanwhile, tells Tom that he is ready for any consequence that comes as a part of his profession. Meanwhile, Karen and Ivy are challenged for a sing off at a party; the cast are having in their room. Ivy before beginning tells Karen about Rebecca and Derek, she assumes Karen must have known as she is Rebecca’s new best buddy. Ivy then pours out all her pain in her song. When its Karen’s turn to sing, and she sees Dev there. Dev then lashes out at Karen, for turning him down, and reminds her of the sacrifices he made for her. He then tells Karen about the incident in his apartment with RJ. Dev says, that is when he realized he wants to be with only Karen. Meanwhile, Frank wants Julia to go back to work, even if it means working with Michael. Meanwhile, Ivy and Dev run into each other in a bar. Dev buys her a drink. The episode ends at this point.
