Sons and Daughters followed the lives of the Hamilton and Palmer familes and was set in Melbourne and Sydney in Australia.
Pat McDonald, Leila Hayes, Ian Rawlings and Brian Blain were on the show throughout it's complete run. When Rowena Wallace left the part of Patricia Hamilton the part was recast with Belinda Giblin taking over the role. It was explained by saying that Patricia had under gone plastic surgery. When Rowena decided she wanted to return to the show she was introduced as the character Pamela Hudson who was Patricia's twin sister.
