The scene in which Ike tells the psychiatrist he sees dead celebrities is a parody of the film The Sixth Sense (1999). Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, The Sixth Sense was a successful psychological thriller about a troubled boy who is able to see and talk to the dead.

Tangina Barrons:

The doctor who specializes in "spooky things" is named Dr. Tangina Phillips. This is a reference to Tangina Barrons, a character from the film Poltergeist (1982), as well as the two sequels.

Ghost Hunters, which is mocked mercilessly in the episode, is a reality show that airs on Syfy. It features paranormal investigators who travel to locations that are reported to be haunted.
