The boys are at the bus stop when Cartman teases Stan because his sister, Shelley, has given him a black eye. Shelley is moody because she recently got headgear at the dentist. The boys notice Kyle has an elephant, and he tells them he mail-ordered it from Africa. He's upset because his mom says the elephant is too big to keep in the house. Cartman notes that his mom bought him a pot-bellied pig instead.
In class that day, Mr. Garrison and Mr. Hat teach the students about genetic engineering and the wonders of splicing DNA. Kyle realizes that if he could splice his elephant's genes with a pot-bellied pig, he could create pot-bellied elephants small enough to keep in the house. Terrance challenges Kyle, saying he could clone a whole human being before Kyle could breed his little elephant, and the cloning war begins. Mr. Garrison suggests the boys visit the nearby genetic engineering ranch, and use the results for their science fair projects. As the boys are leaving class, Mr. Garrison stops Stan and sympathetically asks about the black eye. When he learns that the black eye came from Stan's sister, his sympathy dries up and he tells Stan not to be such a little wuss. Stan heads home where he gets beaten up by Shelley again.
The rest of the boys head to the genetic engineering ranch with Cartman's pig, Fluffy. They meet Dr. Mephesto outside and describe their desire to create little elephants, so he invites them inside and shows them his unusual genetic experiments. But he also tells the boys that pig and elephant DNA just won't splice, and sneaks a quick blood sample from Stan. Back at school, Terrance ridicules the boys, and shows them the foot he's already cloned. He tells them he'll probably have a whole human done by Friday. Chef likes the idea of the tiny elephant, so he advises the boys to get Fluffy and Kyle's elephant drunk and just let nature take its course.
Shelly beats up Stan again, so he threatens that one day, he'll be bigger than she is, and he will take his revenge. Back at the engineering ranch, it is apparent that Dr. Mephesto is Terrance's father, and he has helped Terrance create a clone from Stan's blood.
The boys force the elephant and the pig to drink lots of alcohol, but the animals won't have sex. Chef and Elton John sing them a sexy song to get them in the mood for love. It works, and the elephant makes love to the pig.
Stan's clone escapes from the engineering ranch and begins to wreak havoc on South Park. Despite the clone's freakishly large head, everyone thinks it's Stan. The boys find the clone, and Stan takes him home to meet Shelley and beat her up, but Shelley hits the clone and knocks him unconscious. Dr. Mephesto comes to apologize to the boys, and then he shoots and kills the clone. The door opens on a nearby microwave, and Kenny falls out, burned to a crisp.
Stan begins to cry because the whole town is mad at him, Shelley is threatening him, and he's afraid his dad will send him away for being bad. When Stan's parents walk in, Shelley tells them that none of it was Stan's fault and that he was with her the whole time. Stan speaks to Shelley of family love, but she beats him up once again.
Terrance presents a five-assed monkey as his science project, just as Fluffy is giving birth. When the baby pig is born, it has Mr. Garrison's face. Mr. Garrison proclaims it an amazing coincidence, and awards them first prize in the science fair.
