Ms. Garrison realizes she still has feelings for Mr. Slave, who plans to marry Big Gay Al as soon as the Governor signs the same-sex marriage bill. Ms. Garrison, broken-hearted, tries to stop the gay-marriage bill from passing.

| Ms. Garrison: Two boys can't possibly take care of an egg!
Kyle: Dude, it's totally fine.
Ms. Garrison: It isn't fine! It has two daddies! You call that fine?! It may be fine on the outside, but inside it's confused and embarrassed! Look at the freak egg! It has two daddies! (Taunts the egg) Two daaaddies! Two daaaddies! Come on, class, let's rip on the freak egg!

| While assigning partners to the class, Mrs. Garrison calls Craig's name twice. His two partners are Millie and Red, but later in the episode Millie is shown partnered with Clyde.

This is a reference to Star Trek: First Contact (1996), in which Captain Picard apologizes to Mr. Worf and says to him, "In fact, I think you're the bravest man I have ever known."
