What starts with one bum asking for change, quickly becomes an infestation of the homeless all over South Park. The adults try to save their spare change by using force and reason, but the boys do a little research and find the ultimate solution to the city's growing problem.

| Cartman: I can't possibly jump this many homeless people. I won't risk it! I could jump two homeless people, maybe three. But asking me to jump this many... is asking me to risk my life, Kyle!
Kyle: I don't WANT you to jump them, retard!
| Mayor: All right, people, we need to come up with answers. There are homeless sprouting up all over town. What are we supposed to do? (silence)
Mr. Valmer: Well, I... I sort of had an idea.
Mayor: Please, Mr. Valmer.
Mr. Valmer: We could give the homeless all designer sleeping bags and makeovers. At least that way they'd be pleasant to look at.
| Randy: That's it. That's it, everyone. We're out of Pop-Tarts.
Jimbo: No. We can't be.
Randy: Face it, we're gonna starve!
Linda: No, no wait, there's still a box over here.
Randy: Those are cherry! Ick!

| Visual: Cartman jumping homeless people on a skateboard.
Cartman's stunt is reminiscent of the stunts of daredevil Evel Knievel. It is also similar to Bart Simpson jumping Springfield Gorge on his skateboard in The Simpsons episode, "Bart the Daredevil." Even Cartman's cape is similar to Bart's.
| Title: Night of the Living Homeless
The episode title is a parody of the George A. Romero film Night of the Living Dead (1968). The episode itself is a spoof of the sequel Dawn of the Dead (1978), which was later remade in 2004.
