Gerald: We can't! Don't you get it? There's no Internet to find out why there's no Internet!
Man: What did we used to do to get the news before the Internet?
Randy: (thinks for a moment) A television!
Steven: Look, if you.. if you do find the Internet, let us know, will ya?
Randy: How? You won't have Internet.
Refugee Man: Look, honey, I ordered us some books on Amazon.
Guard: All right, time's up.

Cultural References
Close Encounters of the Third Kind:
During the scene in which the team of researchers are attempting to communicate with the Internet, a man plays a set of notes on a keyboard. This is a reference to the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), in which humans attempt to communicate with a UFO via musical notes as well. The only difference between the set of notes played from the movie and this episode is the final note, probably on purpose to avoid any copyright infringements.
On Deadly Ground:
At the end of the episode, Randy gives a powerful speech about the abuse of Internet usage. This is a parody of the film On Deadly Ground (1994), in which Steven Segal's character Forrest Taft delivers a gripping speech on the abuse of oil.
