South Park: Super Fun Time

South Park Elementary has sent Mr. Garrison’s fourth grade class on a field trip to Pioneer Village, a historical reenactment town where all of the employees roleplay as if it were 1864. However, when Cartman discovers a Super Phun Thyme exists right next door, he forces Butters to sneak out of the complex so that the two of them can do something that is actually fun. Unfortunately, things take a turn for the worse when a highly armed group of thieves burst into Pioneer Village.

Inside the Pioneer Village Administration Office, there is a calender on the wall. It's on the month of April, currently on the 24th. "Super Fun Time" aired on April 23rd.

Six people are killed in this episode. Three being Pioneer Village employees and three being members of the terrorist group.

The episode's working title was originally "The Living Museum."

Butters: (to gawking couple) What are you looking at?

Cartman: All right, lets be partners Kyle.
Kyle: I hate you, remember? Wanna be partners Jimmy?
Cartman: Jesus, what have I ever done to you?

Butters: I am so disappointed in myself. Teacher gave me a responsibility, and I was just suppose to look after my partner.. and I blew it!
Cartman: Don't be too hard on yourself Butters. You can't help being a douchbag.

Cop: You'll be going away for a long time. Was it worth it?
Franz: In a way, it was. I might not have gotten away, but at least I learned a lot about pioneer life in the old West. Those early settlers didn't have the modern conveniences we all take for granted today. To think how difficult it was back in those times to do something as simple as washing your clothes. Pioneer Village has a lot to teach us all.
Cop: That's true..

Cultural References

Hans Gruber / Die Hard:

The leader of the terrorist group, named Franz, is a reference to Hans Gruber, the terrorist leader from the original Die Hard (1988). Played by Alan Rickman, Hans took an office building hostage in the film, much like Franz taking Pioneer Village hostage.
