Episode Quotes
Professor Chaos: This way! We will now show you our secret headquarters of doom.
The Coon: You guys have your own storage facility?
Professor Chaos: Actually it belongs to General Disarray's grandma, but she lets us use it. This is where we come up with all our evil plans. Here's our computer relays. And this is like a.. a cube of chaos that can destroy the world in one second! And here's some of our evil minions! We have everything we need here. Can I offer you a Coke or a Sprite or something?
The Coon: I'll take a Sprite.

Officer: I think I can get a shot at Chaos, sir.
Detective Yates: You think your bullets can hurt him?

Cultural References
The Dark Knight:

While "The Coon" draws influence from recent dark-toned superhero films such as The Spirit (2008) and Watchmen (2009), none is more prominent than The Dark Knight (2008).

The Coon's personality and decisions in the episode are similar to those faced by Batman in the movie. The triumph of evil over good, as well as being faced with difficult ethical decisions are a few of the themes shared between the episode and film. More obvious references exist, such as The Coon's deep, ominous voice and habit of disappearing.

The news segment about Mysterion is a reference to an internet video about leprechaun sightings in Mobile, Alabama. People using camera phones, an eyewitness who gets people to say "yeah," and an amateur sketch are all directly borrowed from the video.

Episode References
Cartman holds his event, COONICON '09, at the Airport Hilton. This is also the location he used for his ginger pride rally in "Ginger Kids," as well as his AIDS benefit in "Tonsil Trouble."
