The China Probrem

Cartman seems to be the only person aware of the gathering threat the Chinese pose to the United States in an all-new episode of South Park entitled, “The China Probrem.” Fresh off an Emmy® win for the “Imaginationland” trilogy, “South Park” returns with seven all-new episodes beginning Wednesday, October 8 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL.

After watching the intimidating opening ceremonies of the recent Olympic games, Cartman understands that the Chinese are only just days away from invading his homeland. While the rest of the American people are haunted by the memory of a recent tragic event, only Butters will stand with Cartman as he confronts the Chinese.

Those Lucas and Spielberg scenes were pretty.. vulgar.

Interesting that they started the run off with a two separate storylines. I preferred Stan and Kyle's plot a bit more than Cartman and Butters. Maybe I'm just being critical, but there's been much funnier Butters/Cartman episodes. Although the "crotch shots" were pretty hilarious. I myself haven't seen the new Indy flick, so a few of the references were over my head. I did get the jist of it though. Good stuff.

Funny stuff absolutely great especially the scenes with Indy, Lucas and Speilberg. LMAO at the "Deliverance" reference as well. Finally those bastards will serve hard time. I did like the Kyle storyline more than the China storyline.

I really didn't care at all for the storyline with Cartman and Butters. The Indiana Jones one did make me laugh a couple of times. That probably could have carried a whole episode by itself. I loved that the rape scenes referenced other movies. Well, the only one I got was Deliverance, but I'm sure the others had some sort of significance. I'm too scared to google "rape pinball machine" to find out.

And I have to say, I agree with Butters -- I thought the fourth movie was pretty good! So there!

ETA: How dare you squeeze your post in before mine, marvelfan!

Not the best episode ever but a nice little episode to restart the season. The subplot was gold, but wore thin by the end, most likely killed by repetivitness. But I was hoping to see Matt and Trey lampoon the film and I wasn't disappointed. The main plot around the Chinese was weak and repetitive, and never really seemed to go anywhere. This episode was just a tad too random for my liking with the plots not as strong or coming together as well as usual. But, overall, I liked it if only for the scene with the kids in the theather watching Indy 4

Maybe I'm just spoiled from watching a group of the best episodes of late, but I was bored with this episode. I'd figure they would have started with a kick-ass episode for the season premiere, instead it seemed like one of those you skip over when they repeat it on TV.

BTW, I had just watched all of season 12 on Time Warner On Demand the past 3 days...ending with Super Fun Time just a few minutes before watching the newest episode.

This is just too ironic. The freekibble question today is about Indiana Jones. Also, there was an Indy DVD commercial on during The Sarah Silverman Program right after South Park.
