Great!!!

Just like 300 and Gladiator but more blood. A lot of vivid sexual scenes
just like the series Rome.

I must admit, not having read any news items or pre aired reviews I was expecting a modern version of the 1960 classic and Crowe's Gladiator.

The series appears to be a lavish affair, decent special effects (especially the blood and battle scenes where the red colour of blood looks vibrant against a black and white background) and an above average cast list. The acting is good and storylines more than acceptable this early on.

I was rather shocked at the full frontal nudity and sex scenes although they don't show "too much" ! Similar productionvalues to Rome and The Tudors so all scenes shot as tasteful as possible.

When i first started watching Spartacus i went in expecting something rather generic and dull, but this thought couldn't have been further from the truth.
In the style of the iconic movie "300", "Spartacus" shines, even overpassing the movie it borrowed its style from. (The show was also produced by cult legend Sam Raimi)
The story of Spartacus is one that has been retold numerous times throughout history. While the details in the original legend are quite vague, it fits perfect for movies or tv shows, as the writers can fill in the blanks while keeping the original story intact.
And that people, was done perfectly for this show!

Was looking forward to this show But what a let down.No way is this like gladiator that was a great film. This is more like a bad version of the 300 .Why have the makers got to keep messing around with the classic,s
The series Rome was great the tudors was another good show. They should
have based it more like Rome and less like a Game.
