Mary Jane is kidnapped by whom she believes to be her dad, when in reality, it is really Dormammu, an illusionist, who runs a cult of people who believe they are meeting their long-lost parents/ siblings, when in reality, they are being hipnotized into robbing banks, and commiting crimes.

Spider-Man explains how he came to be the web-slinging hero that he is today to a girl named Taina. He tells her that he is no longer going to be Spider-Man, so he takes her on his last web-slinging adventure. But it is interupted by Doc Ock, who gives Spider-Man a knockout/ amesia-inducing gas.

Doc Ock convinces Spider-Man that he is a criminal, after he is hit by an amesia-inducing gas. Meanwhile, Tainia hopelessly races around town to try and get someone to help Spider-Man. Once she gets a cab driver to help, she sees Spider-Man robbing a bank with Doc Ock. Now she must convince him that he's a hero.

Peter is arrested after he contains a disc that has lethal weapons designs on it, but he's innocent, and was framed by the Kingpin. So Matt Murdock (a.k.a. The Daredevil) decides to be Peter's lawyer. After he is arrested, the Chameleon turns himself into Spider-Man, and kidnaps Peter, framing Spider-Man as well. He then places Peter in a chamber that unbreakable, and it will run out of oxygen in 30 minutes. Is this the end of Spider-Man?

When he returns, he's working for Silvermane, trying to get Mr. Robertson to forget the story releasing her identity to the public, along with the incriminating pictures. But he's not known as Lonny anymore, he's Tombstone.

Dr. Johnathon Ohn invents a device that can create portals that lead to other locations, may they be a few feet away, or on another planet. He ends up with complete control of the portals, or spots, device-free, and uses them to help him rob banks to fund his research. While Ohn was supposed to give the technology to Wilson Fisk, better known as The Kingpin, he decides to keep it for himself. But his lab assistant, Dr. Sylvia Lopez fears for his life, so she tells Fisk of his accomplishments. Ohn, now known as The Spot, goes to confront Fisk. When he does, Spider-Man arrives, and the trio discover that one of the portals wasn't closed, and is now sucking up New York!

38 :03x11 - Sins of the Fathers (10): Venom Returns (1) (Nov/02/1996)
Dormammu is still anxious to reach Earth, though he needs the life energy of a number of humans. To gain these, he sends Baron Mordo to contact Eddie Brock, with an offer of his symbiote (which he's obtained) in exchange for attaing the life energy for Dormammu. Meanwhile, in the next cell at the psych ward stands Cletus Kasady, who wants the same offer. Luckily for him, the symbiote has an offspring, whom Kasady decides to bond with. They form Carnage, and he and Venom set out to destroy Spider-Man and attain the life energy. To help Spider-Man, Iron Man sends in War Machine who is defeated by Carnage. He then goes in himself to aid Spider-Man.
