An incredibly optimistic square-shaped sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea. He works at the Krusty Krab with his boring neighbor Squidward. He believes that no one has ulterior motives, and believes almost anything that anybody tells him. His interests are bubble blowing, jellyfishing, playing super heroes, and "doing things" with Patrick. He is very pliable and rubbery, and is capable of stretching, inflating, or even breaking apart.

Patrick is SpongeBob's dimwitted best friend. He lives under a rock next to Squidward and is not very bright. He is very loyal, and SpongeBob and him are part of the ''BFF club''. Patrick enjoys sleeping, eating, and doing whatever SpongeBob is doing. Though they fight alot (like most Best Friends) these two are the best buds in the deep blue sea.

Squidward is a depressed, yet often sarcastic squid. He works along with SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs in the Krusty Krab, which he despises. His favorite thing in the entire world is his clarinet, which he does not play that great, and would love nothing more than to move far away from his annoying neighbors, SpongeBob and Patrick. SpongeBob and Patrick think of him as their ''friend'' but Squidward highly disagrees with this.

Sandy is a squirrel originally from Texas who survives by wearing a special airsuit and helmet (when she's not at home in her custom-built air dome). As if that wasn't enough she spends her time topping up her adrenaline with sports such as surfing, karate and weightlifting.

Mr. Krabs is SpongeBob and Squidward's boss at the Krusty Krab, a local restaurant. He loves getting money and he will do anything to get some dollars and even a dime. Counting money and saying, "Arrgh!" are Mr. Krabs' hobbies.

Gary is SpongeBob's pet snail. He may be a snail,but he meows like a cat. SpongeBob is always directed into the right path and guided by Gary. Gary also knows how to tie shoes. He is very smart.

Sheldon J. Plankton (or Plankton for short) is one of the villains of Bikini Bottom. His restaurant, The Chum Bucket, never gets any customers and he is always in competition with Mr. Krabs and his restaurant. He always tries to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Formula, but his plans always fail. He is married to Karen, a computer, eho he says has ''nagging software'' installed.

Kevin The Sea Cucumber has been the president of The Jelly Spotters, which includes a group of anchovies. They attended The Jellyfish Convention. He is idolized by many jellyfishers, but doesn't feel the same way about his fans. He tricks them until they fall and become stranded. He has also been an enemy of Spongebob, who knows more about jellyfishing than Kevin does.

Althought not seen in very many episodes, this lobster spends most of his time working out at the Goo Lagoon. He is friends with SpongeBob and Sandy, who he has a crush on. He is also a lifeguard, and once thought SpongeBob was a lifeguard, too.

Mama Krabs is the mother of Mr. Krabs. Each of them lives in a very similar house. His house is black, and hers is pink. Plankton dated her once to try to get the secret Krabby Patty formula.
Her laugh sounds exactly like Popeye's.

SpongeBob's boating school instructor. She deeply fears being in a boat while SpongeBob is at wheel. She is sent to jail when SpongeBob fails. She doesn't like talking about her husband, Mr. Puff, who got turned into a lightbulb. Mr. Krabs dated her, and made SpongeBob waste his money on buying things for Mrs. Puff.

Pearl is a whale that is the daughter of Mr. Krabs. She loves make up, shopping, fashion, and other things teenaged girls love. She is 16 years old. Her favorite band is called ''Boys who Cry.''
