Crap, they broke up! Or are "taking a break" or whatever! I guess the writers are preparing for the finale next week. Anyway, despite the rather heavy-handed foreshadowing in the conversation about their evaluations, I think they constructed the break-up rather well. It was believable.
As for the hostage crisis of the week, what killed me was the moment where Nathan reacts to Matt's mentioning of Hector's name, when, unknowingly to Matt, Hector was precisely what Nathan was feeling most upset and guilty about.
I liked the whole conversation where Lia knows that Matt is using his negotiation skills on her and she's intellectually resisting but being emotionally manipulated all the same.
