Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Search, Part II (3)

Lieutenant Dax and Chief O'Brien have been taken prisoner by the Dominion and the Jem'Hadar have rendered the USS Defiant null and void. The only ones to survive the attack between the Defiant and the Dominion were Major Kira and Odo, who was able to escape with the unconscious Major on a shuttlecraft. Drawn by an unknown power, Odo takes the shuttlecraft to the Omarian Nebula. There, Odo and Kira come across an M-Class planet that is the home of the Changlings.

Episode Notes
Log Entry:
* Commander's Log, Supplemental - It's been six days since we had to abandon the Defiant after the Jem'Hadar attack. We still don't know what happened to the rest of the crew. Doctor Bashir and I have plotted a course back to the wormhole. Whether the shuttle can get us back there or not is questionable at best. Our engines are failing, our external sensors are barely functioning, and life support systems are at 20% and dropping.

This episode will be the first of many in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine to be directed by Jonathan Frakes, who starred as Commander William T. Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
