This episode marks the departure of Michael Piller as Executive Producer, who would move to his other creation
Star Trek: Voyager full-time in the same capacity. Ira Steven Behr, who had started on the series as a Supervising Producer and later as Co-Executive Producer, would assume Piller's title on DS9 with the next episode, "The Die is Cast".
