When a group of super-humans invade and take control of a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, the Klingons want retaliation. Starfleet orders Captain Archer and his crew to take the Enterprise and retrieve the Klingon ship before any more damage can be done. The crew takes Dr. Arik Soong, a prisoner of Starfleet because he stole the embryos to create these super-humans, aboard, to help find the Bird-of-Prey. But along the way, the crew comes under attack by the Orion, who capture T'Pol and several crew members as slaves. Archer must go to the slave market and rescue his crewmen before it's too late, and Dr. Soong is the only person that can help them get in.

Episode Quotes |

Arik Soong: Jonathan Archer. What brings you here? They naming the prison after you? | Arik Soong: (to Captain Archer) Dr. Phlox's reputation rivals my own. Before I was imprisoned, of course. I'd enjoy trading notes with him. | Arik Soong: I didn't realise you shared humanity's reactionary attitude towards this field of medicine.
Dr. Phlox: On the contrary, we've used genetic engineering on Denobula for over two centuries, to generally positive effect.
Arik Soong: But you don't approve of what I've done.
Dr. Phlox: You tried to redesign your species! The first time that was attempted on Earth the result was 30 million deaths.
Arik Soong: We can't let past mistakes hold us back. | Trip: (to Captain Archer; referring to the new captain's chair) It comes with everything but its own protein resequencer. For that, I'll need another day. | Arik Soong: (to Captain Archer) Your crew could use a sense of humour. | The Orion Slaver: (to T'Pol) You're doing well. Oh, three million six. Not even my last wife sold for that much! | The Orion Slaver: (to Ensign Pierce) If you don't sell as a slave, I will sell you as food. | Trip: What kind of people are these?"
Arik Soong: I'd say they're not unlike some of your ancestors, judging from your accent.
Trip: Well if I remember my history, these Augments you love so much had plenty of slaves.
Arik Soong: They were more like subjects.
Trip: Ah...they were just treated like slaves. | The Orion Slaver: (to T'Pol) You've got spirit. I might just keep you for myself.
(T'Pol kicks him in the crotch)
T'Pol: I'm not for sale. | Malik: (to Captain Archer) To quote one of your philosophers, Nietzsche: "Mankind is something to be surpassed." | Arik Soong: (to Captain Archer) It's been a pleasure, Captain. Take my advice. Go home and start learning how to speak Klingon. |
