Nijil and Valdore continue to control the mysterious Romulan ship that has trapped Reed and Trip, masking it to look like Enterprise and using the ship to destroy a Rigellian vessel. After a Romulan Senator named Vrax chastises Nijil and Valdore for losing control of the ship, Nijil and Valdore vow to kill the humans onboard (Trip and Reed) in order to cover their tracks. Nijil and Valdore trap Trip inside the service junction and leak radiation coolant inside. Over a speaker, Valdore orders Trip to re-establish the damaged warp matrix on the ship or he will die. Reed works frantically to free Trip, but the situation is made worse when the ship engages Enterprise in an intense firefight.
Shran: (to Talas) I think this Denobulan doctor is secretly in love with you. He wants to keep you to himself.
Talas: That Tellarite pig.
Shran: Is there any other kind?
Captain Archer: From what I’ve heard about these Romulans, they mean business. If they're behind these attacks, we have to find some way to stop them or next time, they might come back with a thousand of those ships.
Gral: I'd rather cohabit with Klingon targs than join forces with Tellarites!
Shran: Your personal mating preference is no concern of mine!
Captain Archer: Why don't the two of you try behaving like humans for a change?
Gral: And you said you wouldn't be insulting!
Gral: There, every Tellarite ship is connected to your sensor network despite the inefficient Andorian codes!
Naarg: We're not a patient people.
Captain Archer: I've noticed.
Malcolm: (to Trip) I apologise for saving your life, Commander. It won't happen again.
Trip: You did all this with one phase pistol?
Malcolm: You're good at building things. I'm good at blowing them up.
T'Pol: (to Captain Archer) Vulcans have a saying: "One man can summon the future." What happens if that man throws away his life before his time?
Captain Archer: (to Shran) Things have a way of turning out differently than we expect.
Shran: I'll take your blood to Andoria...to the Wall of Heroes.
Captain Archer: Not today.
Shran: You should've cut off my head!
Captain Archer: I considered it but I still need your help.
Shran: The Ushaan is settled when one combatant is rendered defenseless. Are we done?
Captain Archer: You respected Andorian tradition. It's settled.
Gral: I believe we have more to discuss than trade disputes.
Captain Archer: Why wait until we get to Babel?
