Log Entry:
*Captain's Log, Stardate 45944.1. Following a magnetic wave survey of the Parvenium system, we have detected an object which we cannot immediately identify. | The Ressikan flute central to this episode, resembles, soundwise, an earthly "tin whistle". It is actually a non-functioning prop, and appears on Picard's desk in a number of subsequent episodes. It was slated to appear in a deleted scene in Star Trek: Nemesis.
In 2006, the studio held an auction at Christies for official Star Trek memorabilia. The original price estimated for the flute was $300. The final, winning bid for the flute was $40,000
For more information, see the Wiki entry for this episode. | This episode, along with the ST:DS9 episode In the Pale Moonlight (06x19), is one of the highest rated episodes on the official Star Trek site. | The Ressikan flute central to this episode will appear again from time to time, including playing a central role in Lessons (06x19). |
