Log Entry:
*Captain's Log, Stardate 45944.1. Following a magnetic wave survey of the Parvenium system, we have detected an object which we cannot immediately identify.

The Ressikan flute central to this episode, resembles, soundwise, an earthly "tin whistle". It is actually a non-functioning prop, and appears on Picard's desk in a number of subsequent episodes. It was slated to appear in a deleted scene in Star Trek: Nemesis.

In 2006, the studio held an auction at Christies for official Star Trek memorabilia. The original price estimated for the flute was $300. The final, winning bid for the flute was $40,000

For more information, see the Wiki entry for this episode.

This episode, along with the ST:DS9 episode In the Pale Moonlight (06x19), is one of the highest rated episodes on the official Star Trek site.

The Ressikan flute central to this episode will appear again from time to time, including playing a central role in Lessons (06x19).
