Stardate: 1513.1 When the crew goes to a distant archaeological outpost to conduct routine medical examinations, they find the husband and wife team healthy. However, each of the Enterprise’s away team seems to see the woman with a different familiar face. The wife becomes a major threat to the Enterprise crew when it appears that she is responsible for the death of several crewmen who died after the removal of all salt in their body. The lone male survivor is unconcerned and hostile toward the crew's plight, and resists their attempt to evacuate him from the planet.

| This is the first episode, production wise, in which Captain Kirk (William Shatner) refers to Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley) as "Bones".

| What Changed in the Remastered Version
Along with the usual HD improvements, M-113 gets an orbital upgrade and there are several panoramic shots of M-113 incorporating the sound stage constructs. The phaser shot that knocks out Crater isn't retouched, and the "ricochet" sound effect is still used.
