This is the first episode to feature Jason Momoa as Ronon Dex, a man who was in the Satedan military fighting against the Wraith and on the run for the past 7 years from them.

Ronon's homeworld was originally called Atteria instead of Sateda.

Androcles, a Roman slave, who lived about the time of Tiberius. According to the tale, Androcles had taken refuge from the cruelties of his master in a cave in Africa. A lion entered the cave and showed him his swollen paw. Upon inspection Androcles found, and removed, a large thorn thereby gaining the lions trust and his life.
