When Atlantis loses contact with people on Taranis, Weir sends Sheppard and team to investigate. At first they find no life signs, but as they investigate further it appears there is at least one life sign deep underground. Their investigation soon leads them to an old foe’s horrific research which could soon alter the balance of power balance in the galaxy, leaving all humans in an even greater peril than from even the Wraith.

| (Ronon teaches Rodney how to fight)
Ronon: Eyes straight ahead, focus on me. Never ever look away from your enemy. Shows weakness. Are you weak?
McKay: Ah... no.
Ronon: Good. Are you ready?
McKay: Ah...
Ronon: Urgh!
(Ronon hits Rodney in the stomach with his stick. Rodney bends over in pain)
Ronon: McKay, what did I say? Don't take your eyes off of me. You gotta anticipate their next move. (Rodney still in pain) You alright?
McKay: Mmm...
Ronon: All right, well we'll tie these up so I don't hurt ya. You're getting better.
McKay: Oh, really?
Ronon: No. | Sheppard: Did anybody get a good look of that thing?
McKay: Aside from its severed appendage, no that thing moved incredibly fast.
Ronon: In some ways it looked almost like a human.
McKay: If by human you mean clad in a grotesquely proportionate exoskeleton, yes, very human. | (Sheppard and Ronon find a Wraith Dart)
Ronon: Michael's?
Sheppard: No doubt.
Ronon: You thinking what I'm thinking?
Sheppard: I fly it. Pick you, Rodney and Teyla up. We use the dart's DHD to dial the gate.
Ronon: I was saying blow it up, but your idea's better. |

| At the end of the episode when Col. Sheppard's team dial in, his IDC code is received *before* the wormhole is established. You don't see this but you know the sound a wormhole connecting makes. |

| McKay: Think you used enough dynamite there, Butch?!
This is a reference to the 1969 Movie “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” where the two, unfamiliar with the use of dynamite, use too much and utterly destroy the train's strongbox car, sending all the money flying. |
