Be All My Sins Remember'd (2) - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Rodney is using the newly acquired Replicator tracking system to follow the path of destruction the creatures are taking. Sheppard prepares to take Teyla to help convince people to move from one of the settlements in the Replicators’ path when they get an incoming wormhole from Lt. Kemp’s team. Kemp gets some the evacuees through but warns that most of the settlement doesn’t believe their claim of coming destruction. The Replicators arrive early, attack the planet, kill Kemp and the others, and destroy the Stargate.

The Apollo and Daedalus arrive from hyperdrive and their commanders, Ellis and Caldwell respectively, beam down for a briefing. Rodney insists that he and their Wraith prisoner can come up with a way to introduce the destruct code back into the Replicators, but Ellis is skeptical and figures Rodney is bluffing. A flustered Rodney sticks by his guns and they give him 10 hours, but Sam berates Ellis for attacking one of her people.

The Wraith Leader is equally skeptical that Rodney can pull it off in time, even with his help, but Rodney insists he works best under pressure. Meanwhile, the Atlantis people equip the two ships with Asgard beam technology and they go after Replicator destroys using the tracking system to take them by surprise. The first attack is successful, but Sam warns that the Replicators are good at adapting.

A week later, Caldwell comes back to Atlantis after a “hunting expedition” to resupply, and they get word that the Replicators ships are withdrawing back to their homeworld. Ellis wants to know where McKay’s destruct program is but it still isn’t ready. Rodney comes up with a new idea: they’ll force the Replicators’ nanites to merge together into one giant metallic blob which will then implode into a neutron star. They go with the plan and Rodney uses the device they recovered from the rebel Replicators to create a box that they can beam down to set off the implosion. However, McKay warns that it will take some time for the attraction program to pull down the Replicator ships in orbit, so they’ll need a way to distract and delay the ships. The Wraith Leader says that he might be able to get 12 ships to help them take out the Replicators, but will have to talk to his people in person. Sheppard, Ronon, and Teyla take him in a Puddle Jumper and dock with a Wraith Hive ship, but Wraith soldiers stun them into unconsciousness.

Rodney tries to get the Replication device working to make a box but doesn’t have any luck. Sheppard wakes up back on the Puddle Jumper with the Wraith Leader, who explains he wanted to talk to his people in private. They can supply only seven Hive ships and they head back to Atlantis. En route, a large ship intercepts them: one of the nomadic vessels belonging to Larrin and her people. She is suspicious of the Wraith but Sheppard explains what is going on and asks them for help to take on the Replicator destroyers. She agrees to help after Sheppard offers help with bringing their Ancient technology back on line.

Back on Atlantis, Rodney reveals that he has taken his project in different direction: he’s created a sentient female android/Replicator that can sustain its own form. Meanwhile, Teyla insists on going to the infirmary after being stunned and finally reveals that she’s three months pregnant. Sheppard isn’t happy and immediately takes her off of active duty. Ronon is a little more sympathetic, offering to find her missing mate Kanan, who disappeared along with the other people in her settlement.

Sam is leery of sending the Replicator female off to be destroyed, but Rodney asserts she’s simply a non-sentient weapon, no different then a bullet. Sam approves the plan but the android announces that she’s checked the data and the nanites will gain control before they implode. She comes up with a new plan: they overload the ZPMs in the Replicator power grid surrounding the fused mass, which will trigger the implosion early. Ellis will take the Apollo in while the other ships provide a distraction, they beam the android (nicknamed F.R.A.N. by McKay) in to set off the implosion sequence, and Rodney, Ronon, and the marines will beam into the power grid. Sheppard will go in on Larrin’s ship, using his Ancient gene to fire the large supply of drones they have.

The plan is go and the armada of ships head for the Replicator homeworld. They open fire and F.R.A.N. beams down, confronts some Replicators, and starts the attraction program. As more and more nanites are drawn into the growing mass, Rodney starts to trigger the power core to initiate the implosion. However, the mass grows large enough to disrupt the power grid. Scanning the surface, they detect high-energy sources of neutronium in the planet’s surface and come up with a new plan: Rodney changes the attraction program to increase the blob’s mass and accelerate its descent into the planet, then they trigger the neutronium and activate the implosion. Rodney succeeds and they beam out just in time as the entire planet collapses.

The armada regroups at the rendezvous point but the Wraith Leader and the others don’t show up. Larrin thanks Sheppard for his help and tells him that she’ll be in touch if they need him. Rodney erases the Replicator homeworld from the database… unaware that amongst the debris, one Replicator ship has destroyed. Its captain: the Replicator copy of Dr. Elizabeth Weir.
