Captain/Major/Lieutenant Colonel Samantha Carter, played by Amanda Tapping
Her father wanted her to be involved in space missions and join NASA, however, Samantha Carter decided to join the military. She was on the team that worked on the Stargate for over a year before Daniel Jackson came in and figured it out in a day, which made her feel as though she should have been on the team that went through. She got her chance a year later when the Stargate was reactivated and new teams were put in place by the President of the USA. Samantha was assigned to SG-1 and got her first mission and chance to go through the Stargate - something she had longed to do. Quickly showing herself to be a highly valuable and intelligent woman; she is no doubt a huge asset to the team. Sam has risen through the ranks and has made her father a very proud man. |
