O’Neill turns to the dark side in this episode, and decides to steal Tollan technology, after the Tollans again refuse to share their technology. After being forced to retire over the incident, Jack is approached by the secretive NID organization to, in effect, do what he was fired for. | [In relation to Jack taking Tollan technology]
Gen. Hammond: You stole it?!
Col. O’Neill: I like to think of it as borrowed… Sir. | [At the end, walking with his team]
O’Neill: That stuff I was talking about, at my house… ah, the place was bugged. I had to keep up the act.
Jackson: Ah, I understand.
O’Neill: Obviously, the whole friendship thing, the foundation, it’s all solid.
Jackson: Obviously.
O’Neill: No, no, I… I feel… kind a… I do appreciate you were the one to see if I was okay. That… that means something.
Jackson: Ah, actually, no it doesn’t.
O’Neill: Huh?
Jackson: Umm… we… ah… we drew straws… I lost.
[The team slowly walks past O’Neill, very embarrassed] |
