This is by a very long way the best episode of SG-1 ever. It was hilarious, brilliant, exciting, interesting and extremely well written. It is a unmitigated classic and there is no, nor can they ever be, a better episode.
It was an inspired choice to make Jack and Teal'c the only people, besides Malakai, who were aware of the fact that they were stuck in a time loop. Even though they are both supposed to be very intelligent people, they are the braun of the operation while Daniel and Sam are the brains. The two of them probably would've gone nuts as well after things started to get a tad repetitive but it would have most likely been in a much more controlled (and therefore far less funny) way.
The dialogue was sharp, hilarious and brilliant. I love it when Jack says "We've done this!" at the beginning of the second loop in the briefing room and then Daniel says "We do this everyday," referring to briefings. The three "bad example" jokes are great too. All the commissary, briefing room and infirmary scenes are extremely funny as well. The sequence in Daniel's lab and the whole montage sequence are my favourites in the episode especially the golf through the Stargate and the kiss parts.
I also liked that Malakai was doing all this because he wanted to be reunited with his dead wife. After so many purely evil villains who do what they do to increase their own power and kill their enemies, its a breathe of fresh hair to have a "villian" who is doing something for, although selfish, good-natured and well-intentioned reasons. It was nice to a strong, emotional ending to an episode that was, essentially, just a chance to laugh some fun. Robin Mossley was brilliant as Malakai. He had great chemistry with RDA, probably because he was in eight episodes of MacGyver (including one with Don S. Davis).
